I'm sorry if this is a n00b question, or if it's been answered some where else already. (Please post a link if so)

How do I submit the video for the Chairman's award?

I've been stressing out about it all evening. There doesn't apear to be a spot to upload on the submitting screen. What am I supposed to do?

You provide it, on a DVD, to the judges at the competition. Section 5.4.3.1. You may, should you choose to, show it to the judges as part of your presentation time.

Ooh. Okay, so I don't have to upload it online.

Thank you!

Showing it the presentation is nice as you can add on to it, but it will eat up your time. I would recommend you use it in the presentation.

Good luck! Oh, and can you offer a link to view? Watching Chairmans videos are fun as they aren't centered around the robot.

Actually, I'd rather not post it at it's present state. It's really not that good. (Which is why I'm so glad we're getting this extra time to create and edit, it will do wonders for the quality of the video :) ).

Phew. I'm in charge of the video for 2791, and I was afraid that we had missed the date. Just wondering  , what software are you guys using for your video? I'm using final cut express.:]

I'm glad nobody missed the deadline!

Our team's videos haven't been show at the regionals since we haven't won the award so I wanted to get them out and see what other teams thought.

If anyone has any questions about doing their videos in the future I'm happy to help!

My experience at the 2009 Florida Regional:

The first things the judges said was "we'll give you 30 seconds of set-up time."

The next part, "Why don't we watch the video before your presentation."

So with me, the judges were extremely gracious, gave me lots of time, and it all depends on your judges.

Do give them your dvd right when you walk in along with that paper you have to sign about copyright stuff on the dvd. Then give them your award documentation binders.

Best of luck!

We use Final Cut Pro and, this year, threw in a little Adobe After Effects. :D

We also got rid of some hum in the audio using Soundtrack Pro.

Good to meet a fellow Apple user!

We use iMovie, which is pretty user-friendly and easy to learn. And, if practiced enough, can create some truly amazing video. With the permission of 1720, I'll post our video after Boilermaker this weekend so others can view it and get a feel for the kind of video you can create using iMovie.

If you need help, don't hesitate to ask. :)
