Nope, you can mount it however you want.

Nope. The only rules issues are that is must be wired per the Power Distribution Diagram and it must be visible as per <R59>.

As others have said, mount it however you want. You can see here (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/34900) a custom bracket we made to mount ours in the middle of the robot, where it's visible from all sides.
