is it sliding down once you get up to the top? do you have a pawl or anything to hold it in place? Once the power is off, you don't want it to fall below the platform level or you get 0 points.

Yes, do you have any method to prevent it from backdriving once power is shut off?

Well we have the solenoid for the .5" air tank set to normally open so only when the arm+winch are being moved does the braking system disengage... when off it'll be braking. In order to slide down the motors would have to spin backwards w/o power and our braking system must fail... very unlikely although possible but 7 lbs of pressure being applied to that brake and the motors resistance will do well over hold our robot in position.
