Easily one of the coolest robotics videos I've ever seen. I love seeing the evolution of your robot. This is just awesome. I wish our team took the time to do something like this during build.

I can't wait to see the robot in action!

-John

PS - This reminds me of one of my favorite sequences from the Beatty 2002 season video.

That is one of the coolest robot videos I have ever seen. I can imagine how difficult it was to get all those pictures. I can't even imagine pulling off a video like this.

Thanks. AWESOME video. I also hope I'm able to see this robot in person, ever since you released your bump teaser I've been anticipating good things.

Good luck!

Ok, I'll explain it to you frame by frame...
First it start off with a soccer ball...
On second thought it would be better if you waited until you got home.
Our youtube gets blocked sometimes too. Annoying:mad:

Make your own then! You'll learn a fair bit about web development. :)

You act like he doesn't already have lattes delivered to him at the build site... well, if not lattes, hot chocolate, at least.

thanks for all the comments.

For those curious about the process we used here. We made a turn table (that white thing in every shot) using the lazy Susan bearing that was in the kit last year. We proceeded to mark 24 spots on the floor, each on representing a single photo. A wooden camera mount was fabricated and floor marks for that were also made to ensure close alignment for each series of photos.

When edited together each photo represents 1/6 of a second. This was done to still give it a "jerky" stop motion feel and to allow detail to be seen as some of the changes are subtle in between sets.

Overall this was a fun video to make and quite simple and with a bit of planning I am sure any team in FIRST could do this.

I do apologize that there is a big jump from the silver frame to the black frame with modules on it, but it was one night that the frame came back from paint and the modules were mounted, Since we take these at the end of each night there were a few steps missed.
