Thanks for webcasting for us.

up here in the Northeast we always like to see how the game is being played in other parts of the country.

Anytime Peter, we hope that this webcast can provide a clear view of the matches. We know how it is when we can't get a good look at our northeast buddies too:)

Thanks so much, High Rollers!!!!! The Beach Bots are en route to Arizona with only a skeleton crew. We supporters left behind were bemoaning the lack of a webcast. My family will gladly be tuning in as will others, I'm sure. Appreciate your efforts so much!

Thanks high rollers for providing this!

Is the webcast extremely choppy for anyone else? I'm having trouble keeping a connection for more than 3 or 4 seconds at a time.

Penny
11-03-2010, 12:58
Yes, choppy here too. A few seconds of action, then it buffers for a while, then action again. Better than no webcast, but hoping it will improve by tomorrow.

I'll be watching... Don't disappoint me 399!

Thanks High Rollers!

Test schedules here at college are making this the first year that I won't be able to attend at least a portion of each day of the AZ regional since I was a freshman in high school, and I was bummed out I wouldn't even get to see it on webcast. Hopefully its less choppy but webcasts are always in the testing phase the first day anyway.

Thanks for the webcast! 987 has always been a classy group, we all really appreciate the effort. :)

Right now the webcast for me is a little choppy, 3/4 video and then maybe 1/4 buffering timewise. Not too bad at all. Also, there isn't any audio yet, but I'm sure you'll have all the bugs out by tomorrow. Can't wait to see all of the teams on Saturday after my classes end!

I like the wide shots better to see the whole field

Thanks for casting to those of us that aren't there. HighRollers rock!

Not working at all for me now...

As soon as my team goes up ;(

oh well, I hope the bugs are fixed for tomorrow! choppy is better than no feed at all.

edit: working now :)

Brad Voracek

Webcast is working really well no, no choppiness.

Agreed, we watched that purple robot drive back and forth for half a match while 330 scored 5 points somehow?

I have choppiness as well. Also, does anyone else have sound? I seem to be lacking that...

Same here. Buffering every 10 sec and no sound.

Nice wide views with occasional and brief close-ups has been good.

For those of us accessing the feed through a school filter, can you give us the direct link to the feed, so I can get it unblocked? I can get access to the page, but not the feed.

Thanks for your patience everyone. Doing our best with poor internet connection at the arena and camera is done in-house...we are just using the typical feed provided by FIRST. Hopefully our team will have some of the bugs with our robot ironed out as well;)

My video seems to be about three matches behind what is live, but it still beats nothing for sure!

Same here, it's confusing because the real-time scoring on the right side is live, but the stream is lagging a few matches.

Considering they changed the ranking rules between last week and this week, probably not?

Sad, we won't be able to see our fellow Hawai'i team captain their alliance to their second win of the season. Congratulations to 359 along with 330 and 2403 on a job well done.

Congratulations also to 359 for their Chairman's win... what a ride!

Thanks also to 987 for the webcast - much more informative than refreshing FIRST scoring pages!

Well, according to the Blue Alliance the finals are already over, with 2403, 359, and 330 coming out on top of 3194, 2375, and 987 in 2 matches.

A note of interest: 1013's bot kerploded during the first match, so a backup bot was called in (2375). It was a tough round of eliminations, but a well deserved win for 359, 330, and 2403.

A special congratulations to team 359 for winning the entrepreneurship award, coopertition award, #1 seed winning alliance captain, and chairmans! You guys are on fire this year!

Myself and a few other alumni of team 1726 were helping out rookie team 3194 from Tucson AZ over the build season and during the competition. They were super-psyched over their first competition and excellent performance, and assured me they'll be competing again in the coming years. :)

I fully concur with all congrats (Way to go 359!) and thanks. It was so disappointing last week not to watch the Poi Pounder X in action. Thanks High Rollers for hosting the webcast!

Thank you to everyone who attended this weekend, it was a great regional with some of the best playoffs we've seen in years! Congratulations to 359, 330, and 2403 on the victory and to 359 for their Chairman's award as well.

Team 359 would like to thank 330 and 2403 for being great role-playing alliance partners in our win of the regional!
It was great seeing and making many new friends here, especially being able to put faces to names here on CD.:)
Winning the CA was the icing on the cake..........as it was such a debate whether to enter it here or in Hawaii again.

330 is a great all-around bot and we certainly complemented each other well in the eliminations. If 330 wasnt available, 987 or the rookie team 3194 would have been our second pic, as they feed balls well also!

Especially would like to thank teams 399 and 987 for a fun weekend! You guys are great as always!

See you all in Atlanta.

Congrats to 359, 330 and 2403 for their well deserved win this weekend. Thanks to team 987's partners, 3194, 1013 and our backup bot, 2375 for putting up a great fight. Special congrats to your crew Glenn for the CA too. And a big thanks for the soccer balls, Glenn! My money is on your team getting another banner in two weeks too:)

Thought people might be interested to know that our AZ webcast was watched by over 8000 viewers Fri and Saturday from 14 different countries! A special thanks to our student webmaster, Travis and co-advisor Eric Stensrud for their efforts to make the webcast so successful. Sorry about the loss of webcast at the start of finals...the venue cut off our internet!

Joe, do you know if there will be an archive of the matches?

Thanks much for web casting the regional - I know many members/parents of our team tuned in to watch and are very grateful for this.

Shane,
Glad you all enjoyed the broadcast. We have to convert the archived feed into new format and parse the massive amount of non-game stuff before uploading. Not sure how long it will take but it's in the works.

If you think it's going to take a long time to parse, I could upload my clips for now. Mine are from my own recording at the Regional and not from the webcast. I know TBA would prefer to archive the webcast videos rather than personal recordings, but my clips could be used until yours are ready. That is, unless, there is a lot of work for TBA to replace the clips or you think your parsing will be done soon.
