It's getting closer. As the weeks until Atlanta begin to wind down, teams are starting to prepare for it. So, this begs the question, what hotel is everyone staying at? I know for me, being able to talk and hang out with other teams was half the fun, and a lot of that was done at the hotel (shout out to 176, best end hallway party ever!)
So I'll start. 1124 is at the Embassy Suites :)

We stayed at the Omni in 2006 and were not big fans.
I've stayed at the Marquis 3 times now and much prefer it in every regard except distance.

Stayed at both and couldn't really tell the difference. Omni's internet is worse, Marquis costs money. Both have comfy beds. That's all I really noticed other than walking distance, where the Omni wins.
Still figuring out arrangements myself, so I'll let y'all know. :)

I'm not sure where the Aussies will be staying but I've been told it's a "modest hotel outside of Atlanta"

Haha, yup. Quirk of ours...we've always stayed in a hotel. Plus, with kids from all over Atlanta, it actually is easier to stay in a hotel to have meetings every night and whatnot.

Wow...we try to prevent hotel-ness. We are about half an hour out, and we drive down all 3.5 days.

I (personally) gave up on trying to prevent hotel-ness, as you put it, long ago. Rather than the kids, I think it was originally the coaches' decision because they didn't want to drive every day. Since then...eh, we've gone with the flow.

You can always fly up ($140-170/rt MCO to ATL). I booked mine a few days ago for like $145 after taxes.

I tried the omni many weeks ago and it was booked!
We're getting rental cars anyhow again, even though it kills our bank account.
This will be our biggest group yet as it approaches 35 for our team. You dont want to see our airfare bill!

548 Robostangs are at Holiday Inn downtown. I'm at the Omni because I'm too tired to stumble across the park at the end of the day! :)
I plan on sitting at home or with the team watching on nasa. Have fun everyone.

One of these days we will find the formula for winning a regional. We have been a finalist two times and one quarterfinal in our 6 year history. Always a bridesmaid, never the bride.

The Miracle Workerz will be staying at the Embassy Suites.
After qualifying in week 5, and a hurried 3 days of fundraising, team 558 will be there and staying in the Hyatt. The only two times we've been to the Championship before, we've stayed in the Marriott Marquis. Anyone else in the Hyatt?
