With great sadness we would like to share with CD and FIRST community the passing of our Mentor Joseph Boffa. There are no words to describe the loss.
He was a great mentor and educator and a huge asset to our team. We know he will be smiling down on us this weekend at Long Island Regional, participation in which, was made possible by his fundraising efforts.
Thank you so much to the CD community for the outpouring support.
On behalf of Team 369 and Alumni

What a terrible loss, I'm sure Joseph is one of the reasons why 369 is one of the best teams in the NYC area with some of the best designs.
Our sympathies go out to your team and Joseph's family in these tough times.

I cannot imagine the pain everyone involved is experiencing. I am incredibly sorry for the loss of a man who seems to have been a role model for many.
I hope that you feel the love and support of everyone here in this time of mourning, and I hope his life can continue to be an example of how we can all better ourselves.

On behalf of Team 964, we're sorry to hear about your loss. We send our condolences to you, your team, and his family.
Team 1108 sends their condolences to you and the family. We understand what you are going through as a team. We lost our beloved mentor, Dean Scherman, in October after a short and agonizing battle with cancer. Our team will truly never be the same.
Please know that everything you do now and in the future will be a testament to his memory and the influence he has had in each of your lives. Please know that, although the hurt and sadness will never leave you, that soon you will be comforted by the wonderful memories he has left you. And, please know that your very existence will be a comfort to his family, because they will be able to feel his presence in your presence, and know that your team is another way in which he truly continues to live on.
And, finally, sometime in the future, when you are faced with the decision to drink and drive (and we all have had to make that choice), remember that the wrong decision can have devasting consequences to multitudes of people.
Our prayers are with you all. Linda Meinig
