Ok so our team narrowly missed qualification to the Championship, but I didn't know if it is still possible to register as a veteran team and get on the waitlist? Does anyone know if this is possible? (I doubt it is, but I figured I would still check).

Yes, email frcteams@usfirst.org. You will be low on the list, try not to get your hopes up.

Alright, thanks a lot! I realize that our odds of getting in are very slim, but hey it's worth a shot.

We are #90 on the wait list :(
We won't know until April 7th if we are going

829, thanks a lot! I hope we can come up with the money, too.

1501, wow I can't believe the waitlist is that long! When did you guys register? You're robot was so impressive, it would be a shame if it didn't get to compete at nationals...

And just to clarify: in order to get onto the waitlist, I just need to email frcteams@usfirst.org?

1501, what did you guys do about robot shipment? Since you don't know whether or not you will get in, did you ship your robot back home or to Atlanta? If we shipped our robot back home already, can we still redirect it to Atlanta and be eligible to compete?

Your team's main contact needs to email or call (I suggest calling - (800) 871-8326) FIRST ASAP to figure out the details.

They will be able to assist you with the waitlist, any payments required and the shipping details.

The Championship without you guys would be a crime.

If you don't get in just let us carry your bot to Atlanta as spare parts.

you would only be able to carry 65lbs of it :P

Don't count yourself out though, im sure 20% (if not more) of the teams on that list won't be able to put the funds together in that short amount of time, from finding out to the pay deadline. add a few off that list that will qualify the normal way, and your actually in reasonable shape

Alright, thanks a lot!

I got ahold of them via e-mail, and they said the waitlist was closed since there were already almost 100 teams on it.. :( They took note of our team, though, in the very unlikely event that the whole list will be spent and slots remain open.

Do you guys know if the waitlist is viewable anywhere on the internet?

When you are in a wait list state. What you should do is ship your robot home. Remain on the wait list, and wait for FIRST to contact you. DO NOT OPEN your crate. If you are called for, you need to work with Shepards to get your robot from home to Atlanta. You will then need to submit a letter from your principal or someone that said you did not open your crate while it was back home and submit that to FIRST. That's it...easy as pie. By the way. Paula Mullis at Shepherd's is one AMAZING lady. Kudos to her for working with all us FIRST people. She's is so super duper NICE!

We signed up before the cutoff but were still waitlisted. How did you find out you were 90th, 1501? When we contacted FIRST to ask, they wouldn't tell us.

I really hope we get to go. This is the first year we've been able to afford to go, and just by the skin of our teeth at that. (As in we signed up still several thousand dollars short >.>;;; )

Just to clarify. We are not on a waitlist. We called and asked, FIRST said there are 90+ teams on the waitlist an exact number was not given "90+" is a lot of teams.....and they are not accepting any more teams. We have one more regional to go. We will see what happens.

Oh, OK. Thanks for the info. We have one more regional as well. I'll have my fingers crossed for both of us!

They didn't give a number they said there were 90 teams on the wait list so I just threw out that number.
Sorry for the confusion
