Congratulations to all the teams who have won RCA this year, and good luck in Atlanta!

Here is the list that I have so far for this year's competition. If I have made a mistake, please let me know.

What I am wondering is, since this was the first year that HoF teams who had won prior to 5 years ago could submit again, I don't see any of them in the list. Does anyone know if any one of these eligible teams did submit this year, and where?

Yeah it looks like a few regionals are missing from the list.

I wouldn't be surprised if there some HOF entries at the Connecticut Regional this year, but I'm not sure about entries at other regionals.

2543 didn't win chairman's in San Diego, team 1538 the holy cows did.

This may be a little off topic but I was curious as what to expect as far as the judging goes at the championship event. How much different is it from the award presentation at the regional event. I know that we still have a ten minute presentation and that it will still take place on Friday but are there any other subtle differences from the regional process?

Odd observation: For the first time I can remember (paging through old similar threads), there are more winners with a team number over 1,000 than with a team number below 1000.

Oh, and 1124 won at WPI.

Not sure how you're counting this, so I wanted to clarify.
33 has won two district and 1 State Championship Chairman's. Not sure if we should count district and states as 2, only because it looks like double what you would win in any other state. But, if you want to give us credit, then I'll take it. :)

Yeah, I was counting each Chairman's equally, regardless of Regional, State, or District. Updated the Michigan section with a breakdown. :)

Thanks for the updates. I had all the regionals with the winners, but I guess my copy and paste didn't take all the info.

I wasn't sure on how the Michigan regionals were being scored, Thanks on that update. Do they award a state Chairmans' award at the Championship next week? If so, is that based on the previous winners, or is all teams eligible?

The 7 Michigan teams who win a District Chairman's move on to compete for the State Championship Chairman's and must do a presentation, Q&A, and maintain a separate "Chairman's Pit" to showcase their efforts. The judges select 3 teams from the 7 to receive the State Championship Chairman's Award and compete down at Worlds.

I'm a little surprised at the number of times a team can win chairman's o_0. I thought the judges don't really like to give the RCA to a team more than once or twice?

If the team still deserves it, the judges will give it.

Since only current-year RCA winners are considered for the Championship Chairman's Award, skipping over a more-deserving team because they have won the RCA before would be effectively preventing a potentially-deserving team from winning the Championship CA.

Nice information. By the looks of it (not including the MI teams, I will wait for the final 3) there have been:
14 - 1st time winners
10 - 2 time winners
3 - 3 time winners
4 - 4 time winners
2 - 5 time winners
1 - 6 time winner

Some of the more impressive data is the teams that haven't won the award in a number of years returning to win it again.
342 has the longest gap since last winning (2005)
122, founded in 1997, won it's first CA this year

As for when teams started 2005 has the most (currently)
2005 has 8 winners (both the Championship RAS and RI are represented)
2000 has 6 winners

The most consecutive years winning a CA goes to 234 (4 straight years - very impressive)

1511 is (so far) the only team to win both a CA and EI this year.

There's lots more fun stuff if you want to know
Number of teams that have won at three or more different regionals - 5
Number of (3 or more CA's) that have won at only 1 regional - 2
There are 3 consecutive numbered teams that have won CA's 340, 341, & 342.

1 more week to go.

Congrats to all winners. It is hard work to win a CA, you should be proud of your accomplishments.

The numbers are not recognizing teams who earned Honorable Mention at the Championships. While it isn't the Chairman's Award itself, this is no easy feat when matched up against all the great CA Regional winning teams around FIRST. Miss Daisy - Team 341 - has won it two or three times at Championships.

Washington D.C. 612 (2)

Washington DC Regional 612 - 4

As mentioned in Novi's post, 612 has four Regional Chairman's Awards. 2006 Chesapeake, 2007 Virginia, 2008 Buckeye, and 2010 Washington DC.

edit: Add them to your mental list of 4 out of 5 years teams after you read Fireworks' list, as well.

1511 is (so far) the only team to win both a CA and EI this year.

433 has as well. They won RCA week 2 in Pittsburgh and an EI week 4 in Philadelphia.

...

...

234 amazingly enough has gotten a CA 6 out of the last 8 years!
340 has gotten a CA in 5 of the last 6 years! (3 of the last 3!)
341 has gotten a CA in 5 of the last 8 years!
342 has gotten a CA in 4 of the last 9 years! (Yeah they got one in 2002!)
359 has gotten a CA in 4 of the last 8 years! (3 of the last 3!)
1114 has gotten a CA in 4 of the last 5 years! (3 of the last 3!)

There are some pretty amazing teams out there getting the CA multiple times and I really have to commend 234 (6), 340 (5), 341 (5), 342 (4), 359 (4), and 1114 (4)! You guys have really shown what FIRST is about and it will really be a hard decision for those judges to make in the coming weeks!!! (I wouldn't want to be one of them :p )

Congrats to all teams and I can't wait to see who they pick!!!

Great stats Jason :)
Although one small correction... 433 also won CA & EI!! :) (Pit & Philly)

One of these years we need to do a CA book like we do our Rookies Booklet (for the Rookie Meet & Greet), that includes fun facts about all of the teams... but that would be huge! Maybe it can be an after championships task!

Number of teams that have won at three or more different regionals - 5

I think this is one of the coolest stats. Five teams who have travelled different places, proving themselves to different FIRST judges not necessarily familiar with the team's history. It shows how articulate and prepared many RCA winning teams are.

The principal difference is that the CCA is known for a whole day on Saturday. A kind of reign, if you will, that affords a palpable presence to the proceedings. As for subtle differences, you'd have to ask the judges. I suspect that getting the CCA finished early will spread out their deliberations. That has to be an advantage.

On that note, I think it's particularly cool that 612 has won 4 RCA's, each at a different regional (VCU, Chesapeake, Buckeye, and Washington DC). The one time they submitted at an event they'd already won (2009 VCU), they didn't end up winning. I'm telling them to keep submitting at a new place each year. ;)

I would tend to agree with this but it might actually be easier to impress new judges. We have gotten the "what new things have you done?" It can be just as tough when you get compared to yourself from last year or the year before.

To the other point, I do remember a thread about 75 commenting on all of the great things they did in their community and the judges asking them why they didn't submit locally.
