Welcome to all the teams coming to the Vegas Regional! We put together something for those coming from out of state. So that you can maximize your fun after the regional, see the list of places to go and things to do (many on a budget). http://team987.com/What_to_do_in_Las_Vegas.pdf
If you can't come, check out the webcast at http://team987.com/webcasts/. We hope to have fixed some of the technical difficulties we were having when webcasting the Phoenix Regional.
Good luck to all the teams!
Hmmm, imagine being able to watch a webcasted match and pause or replay it...;)

I'm getting the same thing. :(
Hopefully once the webcast is up and running, we'll be able to go back and watch the previously recorded matches as Joe alluded to...
EDIT: It's up now! No sound, but the replay feature is working for the more recent matches!

My picture is dark and choppy.
When they get the kinks worked out this is going to be an awesome webcast format!
The FIRST scoreboard shows the poofs with three matches and 8 hang points. Have they had two three pointers?

That would be interesting to see because I don't think they had that capability when I watched the webcast from SVR.
The picture for me is also dark and choppy. When they get that cleaned up the system will be amazing. It looks like you're able to go watch previous matches by clicking on them in the side bar almost as soon as they are done.
I'm also not getting any sound. That may be just me =\

Could be 4 2 pointers including your partners?

Take a look at Match 28 about 2:20. Team 4 takes a fall from almost the full tower height. It looked painful.

What's up with the webcast right now? Every time I load it, it just starts replaying match 56 for me.

It was the last match of the day.
I am having the same problem and it is very hurky-jerky, even on the early matches. I thought it was just me.

Man, all this newfangled technology is confusing. Normal webcasts just turn off the feed when matches are over...
(Btw, I think the replay feature is awesome)
Will these chopped matches be uploaded to TBA? And if so, will the uploaded matches have audio?

I'm going to seemingly deviate from the webcast talk here just to say that this has so far been quite the amazing regional.
I'm sitting back at the hotel room on the questionable wi-fi network discussing both the days events as well as the scouting information that we've gathered throughout the day and we've all agreed here it's been quite the event.
Thank you to everyone here participating as well as anyone helping out.
It's been amazing.

The files need to be converted, but they plan on sending them to TBA. Not sure about the audio, ill tell the guys working it tomorrow to double check the audio line.

With 25 surely securing the top spot, they will be hard to beat once they pick either 254 or 987 as my prediction.;)
I guess we'll see.

Does anyone know how to watch the alliance selections with the replay setup on the webcast? I can't find a way to make it not replay matches.

I would like to thank and congratulate the Cyberpenguins team 585. They welcomed our far travelling team and were truly the epitome of gracious professionalism. Truly a credit to those fine folks from Tehachapi.
Thanks

Sorry for the webcast quality problems, everyone. We had numerous problems with the audio/video feeds from the arena and did the best we could with what they gave us...hopefully next year things will be ironed out.
Congratulations to 25, 254 and 3230 for your well deserved win yesterday and a huge thanks to our alliance partners 973, 585 and 4 for helping us give the winners a run for their money! Adam, it was a pleasure having you guys as our pit neighbors and alliance mates. Unfortunately this result means 987 won't be going to Atlanta this year so we wish all of our fellow teams the best of luck (and you all know it plays a role in success in this game) and we hope you have a great time at Championships! When decent video of the regional gets archived, you will have a chance to see footage of some great elimination matches and awesome driving by Josh, our driver who gave his all against two powerhouse teams. I am proud of his and the whole team's effort. The regional was the smoothest, best run (ahead of schedule) I have ever been involved with and all of the teams were great to work with. If you have't been to LVR, be sure to join us next time!

My only hope is that we're partners for once during eliminations.
Hawaii promises to be even better next year. We actually helped bring a NJ team this year after communicating with them a lot from CMP in '09.
I will definitely work on the part of the HI RPC in trying to recruit teams to come from the mainland. HI is a week 4 regional once again in 2011.
Congrats again and see you in ATL!!

973 had a great time at the Las Vegas Regional.
The 2010 season was a rough, tough and long season for 973, and it clearly showed at the silicon valley regional; our performance was simply embarrassing, and the team itself did not work well together.
The team rallied from our poor performance, and really came together in preparation for Las Vegas. We never reached elite level, but the amount the team's performance (and cohesion) improved between events made me incredibly proud of my students and fellow mentors.
Thanks to 987 for picking us, it's always a pleasure playing with such a great team. Many of our parents doubted our chances of success with the alliance, but I told them 987 is never a team to count out. It was a great time, and I hope it can happen again in the future. I hope I didn't scare any of you with how animated I get on the field, my drivers and I have a pretty close relationship and we have no qualms telling each other how we really feel.
Thanks to 254 for all the help and guidance you have provided us. Although beating us in the finals kept us from champs, we're not one but upset; if there is a time I want to lose to, it's you guys. Give 'em hell at champs guys.
Las Vegas is definitely our #1 pick for a regional next year.

On Behalf of Team 4,
I would like to say that this is definitely the most fun regional we have had since 2007. As a first year driver, I would have never guessed our success in this regional. I would like to thank the High Rollers (987) and GRR (973) for an unexpected substitution during finals.
I would also like to thank team 585, as we couldn't have been in this position without your success. Great Job winning Chairmans guys!
Congrats 25, 254, and 3230 for your amazing victory in LV. Good luck in Nationals!

Team 1631 had a blast at the Las Vegas regional!
We would like the thank teams 1622 and 2429 for being our great alliance partners in the elimination rounds - in our five year history with FRC, this was the first time we have ever competed in an elimination round. It was a big morale booster for our team! We are all really motivated for next year.
Congratulations to teams 25, 254, and 3230 for taking the championship, you guys deserved it!
