Greetings Teams:

Can you believe it? We are gearing up for Week Five of the FRC Competition Season, and we are just a couple weeks away from the Championship (CMP) Event in Atlanta! It has been a fantastic season thus far, and we are all looking forward to these last (but not least!) Events.

We hope that you are all already following his Blog (http://frcdirector.blogspot.com/), and now you can find Director of the FRC, Bill Miller, on Twitter! Don’t miss a tweet! http://twitter.com/FRCTeams

For those of you who will be joining us in Atlanta for CMP, plan to have up to five of your team members (at least one must be an adult mentor) ready to uncrate your robot, charge your batteries, encrypt your radio and get your robot inspected all on Wednesday (4/14) night. The Pits will open at 6 PM and close at 9 PM. Teams will be allowed to work on their robots during this time. We have implemented this change to help teams be ready to go at 1 PM on Thursday when competition rounds begin. For full details: http://frcdirector.blogspot.com/2010/03/get-head-start-at-championship.html

If you are attending Events this week, be sure to review the general reminders (pertaining to Safety Glasses, Participation Medallions, your Pit Area and more) here: http://usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/content.aspx?id=16904. Please also review the important information about Team Rosters, Consent and Release Forms, Shipping Documents and more here: http://usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/content.aspx?id=16810

If your team qualifies at a Regional Event to attend the CMP, remember you still must register via TIMS in order to attend! For full details about what to do if you qualify for CMP at a Regional Event, refer to the information found here: http://usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/content.aspx?id=16725

Go Teams!

I love to see the information about Wednesday at Championship! I just wish I knew this weeks ago so we could have planned travel better.

Yay! Inspections on Wednesday! Now at least we'll have half a chance of getting into a practice round!

It looks like you can have 5 not just 3 to Wed night.

I think what he ment was that only 3 of them are traveling down on Wednesday. I actually know this because we are traveling together. I bet we could find some help if needed.

As usual, the Rees is wise and full of knowy-things.

We only have three people traveling down on Wednesday. The rest will be down some time Thursday morning.

We need to: uncrate, upgrade our kicker, fix some code, upgrade some code, put a wheel back on, test everything, and get inspected. In three hours.

No problem.

Oh Patrick, that's all you have to do? Wasn't is nice of FIRST to wait until the last minute to tell everyone about rounds starting on Thursday, inspection on Wednesday, and changing the number of people you can bring on wednesday?

Hey, at least now we know.

As for 'is that all', well, I think it's probably actually doable in that time frame.

...I assume they're allowing tool load-in on Wednesday, then, too.

That is correct. They are letting teams do whatever they need to wednesday night to prepare for the "revised" schedule for Thursday. So teams are able to uncrate, inspect (which means being able to work on the robot so you are able to get inspected), get the WPA encryption, and even set up their pit. Good luck to all the teams and see you all down in Atlanta.
