FIRST has gotten upset about hijacked links in the past. They just don't know how to hide from the Google spiders for long. Anyways it doesn't mean anything until it's officially, which will probably be 5pm like when they usually let it out.

Sooner? I'll take that. Are you talking about 5 pm today? They used to release it at like 12:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. Just some past experience. Although I don't know why we are all getting worked up over this. lol :)
It may be sooner then you think...
My question is, so what if we found it earlier than they wanted to "officially" release it. Since it was found, why not just release it? Now I'm expecting them to take it back and generate a new set of divisions, because of the leak. I don't understand why knowing what the divisions are matters when leaked a day or two early. It doesnt change any of the strategy, it just lets you know what strategies you might have to employ.

I totally agree with you, knowing today makes no difference that knowing yesterday, or the day after. The only think that makes it having a difference is the time frame for scouting before hand. All I have to say is Good Luck to all teams. :)

It was fun, especially when you are searching around different sites to find it!
I think when you and Alex responded you guys seemed to give it more of an "official" sense which drove people up the wall thinking that FIRST had hidden it for us and you two knew where it was!
If I was you, I would have predicted where the top 10 teams in each division would have gone and watched to see if they would have come true! :D
Thanks for posting it gave me something to laugh about today!

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
Just take it easy guys. Don't make FIRST's job any harder than it is - imagine what happens around Championship payment deadline time (i.e. now). They're working very hard to handle a number of teams' needs right now. People may be dropping - some may be adding in at the last minute. I imagine it's rather hectic.
Patience is a virtue. Let them release their divisions on their own terms.
I'd wait until the team list links for each division show up on this page:

If I were testing this system, I would probably do it like this.
1) Generate test divisions
2) Generate test matches
3) Make sure everything works the way I want it to.
4) Do it again for real.
Who knows though.
Would put us in Newton too, with 177, 178 and Rosie (sort of an honorary CT team they are so close). Fine by me, hope it stays this way!

Curious to see who ends up in each division. If 1114 and 469 end up in the same division they could be hard to beat.

If the division stay pretty close to this, Archimedes is far deeper than any of the other divisions, far less "predictable". It's interesting that they would do that.

Archimedes is the deepest and we always seem to be stuck with them.:ahh:
25, 254, 330, 148, 118, 341, 1918, 33, 71, 103 just to name a few.

Why couldn't you guys just wait and let the Division selection process get taken care of and then released in an appropriate official manner?
We constantly ask for a more transparent communication with FIRST. That requires respect and maturity on our side.
If you guys are/were just guessing - fine - but if you were snooping and tracking down the info before it was ready to be officially released, that's pretty darn tacky.

No offense Jane, but when you have thousands of excited smart kids they are going to find stuff. If FIRST really wanted to keep this information out of the hands of the public they should not have put it on a public website. This has been a problem for the last few years and I don't hold any fault with the kids using their smarts in a legal way to get info they want.
Bill's blog said that the divisions are subject to change so this is all just speculation until they are on FIRST's main page.

I would be surprised if they don't mix it up based on this, just to mess with us.
Well, it's probably exacerbated this year by the fact that they usually release the divisons by now. I think everyone's just excited and a little impatient. Nice to see kids excited about something other than when the latest Twilight movie is coming out.

I am just waiting for all of this to be fake, and we all find out that this was all invalid information. This probably was released so they could drive us nuts with only a couple people of knowing the real information. It's just like a game hint, just not as exciting.

Anybody else spot the pattern? I did right away.
If there's a pattern, could you tell us please?

If that be true, then why are posts removed from the thread?
All posts removed from the thread were part of a subtle joke orchestrated by Alex Corimer.

Nowhere.
48 is on Curie.

Gotta comment on this since snooping around websites is sort of a hobby of mine.
If FIRST, or anyone, puts a page out on a server and thinks that not having links to access it is a viable way of protecting it they are asking for that page to be found. If they really cared they would have secured the page properly. ANYTHING you put out online in an unsecured manner is fair game. Nothing illegal about accessing a page that you have access to. Security through obscurity is a bad idea.
Now, if someone had decided to break through the security and access the files THAT is illegal. To my knowledge that did not happen though.

46?
46 is already on Einstein. Team IFI will have a tough time with them.
They're just waiting for 469 and 1114 to try and beat them.
Nowhere.
48 is on Curie.
Oh Alex...do you not remember this joke?

46 is EVERYWHERE.
I'm just trying to add to the random pointlessness. :)

I would be surprised if these didn't change. Although I don't know if I want them to, the competition on Archimedes is bound to be intense!

This might be more convenient - lists all teams, sorted by division.
