I am by no means an expert on FRC so if you could post the must see matches here it would help alot of people out with time management. Myself, i would like to know if 2337 will have a chance of getting a suspension.

Match 100 in Curie Should be interesting. 111 ,888, and 469 vs 1114, 231, and 288.

Newton match 87 - (910, 525, 932 vs 67, 668, 971) should be a pretty decent match.

Team Krunch was on Galileo trying to work with team 100 on getting a suspension. They were having some trouble, but with Krunch's extremely high elevation and their fold out side bars, I believe they will get one.

Using 1114's least squares calculations, I estimated the final scores of all the matches and then ranked them based on total and delta scores. In case anyone cares about the details, I used the LS score from the last regional that each team participated in rather than some weighted combination. I then cross-checked the estimates from the matches that were played today and found a pretty good correlation between the predictions and the actual match scores. So encouraged, I figured I'd provide a list of potentially high scoring matches for viewing (here are the top 20):

Field Match Red 1 Red 2 Red 3 Blue 1 Blue 2 Blue 3 Red Blue Total Delta
Newton 87 910 525 932 67 668 971 12.2 17.4 29.7 5.2
Arch. 119 33 1111 233 254 330 45 13.5 15.2 28.7 1.7
Curie 100 469 888 111 1114 231 288 12.2 13.9 26.1 1.6
Arch. 86 2753 358 254 3256 1772 201 13.5 11.4 24.8 2.1

Several of these matches will probably be a tad one-sided though so I created a second list of high-scoring matches where the predicted score between the alliances is less than 4:

Archimedes #119 (33/1111/233 vs 254/330/45) on Saturday morning has "classic" written all over it. It's likely to draw attention from all of the Georgia Dome.

Curie #100 is intriguing as well, with 469 pitted against 1114. There's been plenty of speculation that 469+1114 will be playing late on Saturday.

Breakaway has generated a great deal of excitement with some awesome, thrilling, and surprising matches. Of course, the elimination matches are certain to be even more riveting.

What a way to close out FIRST Championship in Atlanta!!

I'm surprised by how many matches are great to watch despite not having big name teams in them. Everyone seems to be stepping up their game and we're seeing a lot of exciting matches and high scores.

I'm glad I witnessed that on webcast. I'm still blown away at the score. And to think it would've been higher had 910 not been disabled for a good portion of the match.

Well Curie Match 100 Ended up being rather exciting indeed. Not what some people expected I'm sure.

6v0 with 1114 and 111 cleaning up any balls 469 didn't score and 888 helping while 231 and 288 blocked the blue goals to make sure that no balls went in blue goals. 32-0 before penalties and 29-0 after penalties. (DOGMA becasue there were so so so so so many balls in the goals)

Edit: This match Resulted in 1114 being Launched to 1st seed and 111 being thrust up to 2nd seed.

Don't forget 45 and 1111. i.e. 254, 330, 45 vs. 233, 33, 1111 That match was an absolute blast! 1111 really did a great job as a recently converted deflector bot.;) 330 did a fantastic job seeing this and adjusting their defense. What a cool match.

We were very happy to get a tie in #110 vs. 67 -- even if the tie was due to a penalty.

Unfortunately, in #141 it was our fault that our alliance got killed, and it was largely because the warranty apparently ran out on our robot -- we dropped a chain, our kicker failed (although in post-match diagnostics it worked *fine* and we have no idea why it failed and couldn't reproduce the failure), and our tremendously reliable lift failed to lift (due to, of all things, a loose set screw).

To answer your original question (which I know this is VERY late, but there was no wifi at the hotel/comp site after I got a match schedule), we did have a few chances for one suspension. Our first match, the team was too slow and wasn't able to get up in time. A few matches later we had the chance, but the team didn't come to midfield to even try to hang off of us (people think we can't hold other robots, when in reality we can hold 4, 120 lb. robots off of our bars). A few matches later, we had the chance, but due to some good defensive playing, we were just barely unable to get to the tower. And, during one of our last matches, the team put there hooks up fast enough, but missed coming from the side to try and hook. Disappointing, but oh well. There was nothing we could have done to fix it.

As for a double suspension, we had absolutely no chances for one. Watch for it during the off season though. Were hoping we can squeeze it out before the game is completely over.

I drove for 45 in Atlanta (more specifically, match 119 on Archimedes), and by far, most amazing match ever (it's up there with the 67, 111, and 45 match from last year that I also got to drive for). I think by the end of it I was shaking as much as our final match at Boilermaker with 868 and 2171. Great match and thanks to the other 5 teams for making it awesome.

If you're looking for some good matches, I'd suggest not only looking at the Championship videos, but also just getting on TBA and looking at the Finals from all the different Regionals. I do suggest Michigan State Championships Qualifications Match 80. I think this is the only match of the season I've seen a suspended robot. 2959 off of 2337. Correct me if I'm wrong, I really would LOVE to see more suspensions.

Newton 87, Einstein 2, and of course the final Einstein were some of the best/most interesting I've seen.

TBA video is a low quality one. Here is a 1080 res one we took up in the stands (we record all of our matches, and recently ALL matches).

Definitely watch off of Youtube, just beware of the slow loading times for higher res! Plus, Youtube has a number of videos TBA doesn't.
