All three Purdue FIRST teams plan on applying (461, 1646, 1747).

1771 will be applying.
We had a blast last year. The talent show was awesome. But unfortunately, we won't be able to make it this year.
Hopefully we can return in 2011.
Since IRI has the reputation as the off-season where the best of the best go to play, how good of a record does a team need to have to be considered?

We had the option to go in 2008 but turned it down. We will be applying this year, fingers crossed!

It is more than just the team record that get them considered.
Team 116 goes every year and have yet to win a regional.

I think that 1511 would have a good shot at getting in.
Need some roadies? :p

2791 and 1714 are applying. I'm trying to get some footage of 2791 at CT up, as we performed much better at CT than at WPI. Continuous improvement and all that, I heard it works. Of course, 2791 is already planning and designing off season modificaions.
1714 goes with the "If it gets you to the Championship semifinals and you come within 3 points of beating 1086 and 217, don't touch it" mentality, I think. The last hurrah for the team's awesome drivers and coach, all of whom are seniors.

Blue Cheese team 1086 is trying to work out the logistics, but those vary it looks like it is a go. We just need to apply ... May 3rd won't get here soon enough.

IRI is one of those events that every team should try to get to at some point. There's nothing like getting your butt kicked by the best! :D

Thanks for picking it up, we must have missed it! Regardless of whether or not we are selected, I'm sure someone from our team will be there to pick it up.

Do you have our GM flag from Curie also? :D
2337 won't be attending IRI, but so we don't miss out on all the fun, I'm working on going with a small group of people who want to go from our team. Come watch the fun and be a floating cheering club. Unfortunately, I don't have enough people (or willing people to scout for fun during off seasons events) to scout it, or else you know I would be.

Though Team 2345 hasnt talked about it this year, i am going to bring it up because i would love to exprience the awesomeness of IRI. Since this would 2345's first time even thinking about applying, can anyone explain how we would go about doing so, and what are our chances of getting in?
The Goats will be applying. The students are already discussing robot changes and talent show ideas. Also this years dates don't conflict with our biggest fundraiser for the first time in years.

On or around May 3, IRI applications will be available at this website:
http://indianaroboticsinvitational.org/ (http://indianaroboticsinvitational.org/2010_IRI/)
Fill out the application completely and submit well before the published deadline. Last year, almost 110 teams applied, 82 were selected and 72 ultimately registered. I'm guessing even more teams will apply, so you will need to stand out from a field of impressive applicants. Once you apply, wait impatiently for the list of selected teams to be announced. If selected, send your acceptance and payment promptly!

I've always wanted to go to IRI, but this summer still can't be my first IRI- I'll be in Switzerland! Maybe next year. :)

I think it was 51 or something, they had this great idea to like, catch balls before they hit the ground and redirect them into the goals, or was that 125?
Even though nobody really talked about us this year, 469 is planning on applying...
My son from team 2041 said you guys are pretty good - so, you will probably get in.
