Very cool to see 9 Wisconsin teams get invited after having only 4 or 5 teams attend IRI since 2007.

What type of criteria goes into the selection other than robot performance? I see one or two teams who had less than spectacular seasons that I could see easily replaced by some of the other applicants who were not selected.
So what types of things does the IRI committee look for? (For future reference if a team of mine applies). Thanks.
Also, very cool to see Sachem Aftershock and Stuy Pulse being invited to the IRI! :) At least I have a few locals to root for.

For your future reference, here's a past answer (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=832437&postcount=35).

Maybe Code Red(2771) has one more webcast in them. They did a great job with all the FiM events.

Wave Robotics is very excited to be attending their first IRI competition. We had to drop out last year and it was a shame. I am sure we will have a great time and not dissapoint! I haven't been to IRI since 2004 and am very excited to return and view this competition from a mentors perspective.
See you all there!
P.S. 9 WI teams!?!?!??! Sweet Butta!

BOOM!!!
I just had to... :o
Looks like IRI is going to be absolutely insane. I cant wait to see the results of the competition; this is definitely going to be a close call. I may be going to a summer program with the two other members of our team, so we will try to watch the webcast if we can. Good luck to all of the teams competing!! :)

Awesome team list. 1503 didn't apply this year, but I don't want to miss IRI so hopefully I'll get to tag along with another team.

A reminder for teams - if you wish to contribute to the IRI Teams Scholarship Fund, you can include that donation with your entry fee.
This is totally optional. Funds contributed in 2009 will be used to help fund a 2010 scholarship, and funds contributed this year will be used for a 2011 IRI Scholarship.

Yeah! Blue Cheese and MORE Robotics! Also the Cheesy Poofs and the Cheese Curd Herd will be there!
Something else I noticed while looking through the records, was that lots of teams that are sucessful in IRI return. I had heard before, that IRI hosted an event of champions, but until now I didn't take it literally! This is my second year in FRC, and this year I have been able to really look at the team numbers... 67, 294, 1114, 469, 2056, 343, 1625, 3138, 254... All of them went into Einstein this year... and five of those have been victorious at IRI in the past. All of those teams are returning this year!
Any way you look at it, the competition is going to be fierce!
Hope to see you there!

That was our plan as well, but now we're taking those plans and moving them faster to get a better bot built for a school board meeting.
694 dropped our check in the mail today. I'm still in disbelief that we are going to IRI. This is going to be a ton of fun and I look forward to seeing all of the amazing teams.
Man, after seeing all those teams, I have no idea how we managed to get in...
Hoping for a great competition!!!:D
