Although all spots have been filled, we will maintain a waiting list for Ramp Riot and will start moving teams off of the waiting list as openings develop, but no later than 10/11/10.
Last year several openings developed in early September. We also currently have one spot reserved for a pre-rookie team, but do not, as yet have a pre-rookie to fill the opening. This spot will be opened on 10/11/10 if it remains unfilled.
Last year all 5 teams on our waiting list ended up making it to Ramp Riot with ample notice to prepare. We encourage teams to continue to register for Ramp Riot. Please register at www.team341.com
Go to the side bar and click on "Ramp Riot".
Best Wishes to everyone for a great Fall season!!
Hello all Ramp Riot Teams!
Opening Video Help:
Each year we produce an opening video to honor our participating teams. Please send your team pictures of your students, robots, important team moments from 2010, etc. to:
rampriot@team341.com
Also, if you have video files, we can try our best to include them too. Please either send a download link to rampriot@team341.com or mail us a DVD (mail them to: Alan Ostrow, Wissahickon HS, 521 Houston Road, Ambler, PA 19002). Videos must be a minimum of SD video quality at 720px wide. Preferred formats include: .mov, .mp2, .mp4, .avi. (Unacceptable formats include: .wmv)
We want to include everyone in the opening video and truly honor the attending teams! Please be sure to send us your stuff!
We would love to have all of your media by September 30th so act now!
See you at Ramp Riot!
Ramp Riot Teams:
Please send those pictures and videos as per the instructions in the thread above. It really enhances your team's experience to be honored in the opening video with HIGH QUALITY pictures and video.
Kirsten and the media team work hard to make you look good on the big screen. So the sooner you send in the material, the better the video will be for every team.
If you would like to see last year's Ramp Riot videos, please check out the links below.

We will continue to maintain a waiting list.
We just wanted to mention again that all 5 teams on last year's waiting list made it into the 2009 event, with plenty of notice.
We currently only have one team on our waiting list. At this point your chances of making it into Ramp Riot are strong. So please don't hesitate to register.
Thanks!
To the Teams and Supporters of Ramp Riot:
Ramp Riot is only successful because of its Teams and VOLUNTEERS. We deeply appreciate all of the help receive form the FIRST community on event day. At this early stage almost all volunteer positions are unfilled.
So, if you are interested in volunteering at Ramp Riot, please go to www.team341.com
Under the Ramp Riot section you will find a very simple online form that will help us place you in the position you want.
As always, there will be food in the Volunteer/VIP room and you will score a Ramp Riot crew shirt. We also have one of the best retirement plans in the industry. :)
So if all of this sounds good to you, you are either crazy or a member of FIRST. Just register on the website and we'll place you in your desired job.
Thanks again for volunteering!!

To the Teams and Patrons of Ramp Riot:
Each year at Ramp Riot we collect canned goods for the Mattie Dixon Community Cupboard from individuals and teams.
We also hold a competition among the teams to bring the most cans each year.
We will once again give the team that delivers the most food cans, the Mike Wade Memorial Award.
This beautiful eagle trophy is given each year in honor of Mike Wade, a NASA Goddard employee who was a major patron and founder of the East Coast Off-season event schedule.
Whether you are an individual or a team, please consider bringing canned goods to Ramp Riot for the sake of the people served by the cupboard and in honor of Mike Wade, who gave so much to us all.
Every donation makes a difference!
Thanks!
In addition to the canned food drive we also are seeking student involvement with our Girls in Gear program.
Girls In Gear: We are looking for experienced female FRC members to act as tour guides for our Girls in Gear, Girl Scout Technology Program.
The job will be easy and fun. All the FRC girls have to do is take a group of girl scouts and their adult troop leader on a loop to different activity stations and maybe talk about FIRST a little bit along the way.
Please let me know if you are interested. So far we have 6 girls from Team 2016 and we could use about 6 to 8 more.
Thanks!

Even though we didn't compete, I thought the event was great and loved it for my first time being there. I hope to be at the next RR if I am around the area next year.
FYI, The Chairman's Award is unbelievably cool up close in person.

What an excellent event! Every year I am more and more amazed with how well this event is set up. Thank you 341. It is greatly appreciated!
On behalf of team 103, I would like to make some well deserved thank-yous.
Thank you team 341 for showing everyone how a Chairman-Winning team presents itself. All of your students, mentors, and volunteers are amazing!
I would also like to thank our alliance, although we did not compete long. It was great fun, and a great learning experience for our new kids.
Congratulations to all of the winners! You guys were great, and it was so much fun watching you!
But most of all, I would like to thank all of the attending teams. This year we have 15 new members, and all of them got that first spark of inspiration I was hoping they would see. Every team at the event showed our kids how a team is run well, and how Gracious Professionalism can be applied to everything.
Once again, many thanks to everyone!
Phil on behalf of the Cybersonics Technology Team, 103
Thanks again to Miss Daisy for hosting an awesome competition! It was a blast as always. And thank to all the volunteers who made the whole event run so smoothly. Not just FRC; I always enjoy the extra (FTC, Girls in Gear, etc) programs you guys do. What an effort!
And thank you to our alliance, 303 and 522, though we didn't play for long. (Sorry about the breakdown; it's been a looong season.) Congrats to all the champions and award winners as well, you guys definitely deserve it!
And a special thank you to all the other attending teams for making Ramp Riot such a great experience. It's always a great way to introduce our new rookies and give us vets a fun time. See you get year!
I'd just like to thank our alliance captain, team 2016, and our alliance mate, team 1403. It was the first time my team made it to the finals, and we put up a good fight. And of course, a HUGE thank you to team 341 for hosting this event. This was my last Ramp Riot, and it was an awesome one.
Results of RAMP RIOT 2010:
Thank you to all of the Teams, Sponsors and Volunteers that made Ramp Riot 2010 such a great day.
I will write again with a more specific list, but for now I just wanted to extend my gratitude and publish the results of the day.

And those little Daisy's are cool too. We loved doing the VEX demo with them playing Clean Sweep.
Wendy does a great job of setting the program up, lots for them to see and do. It was impressive on how many more scouts there were this year than last. Thanks for inviting us!

Team 341,
On behalf of all of Team 375, I'd like to thank you so much for the great experience we had at Ramp Riot! It was truly one of the best events we have ever attended, in terms of organization, spirit, and just plain awesomeness!
It was an honor to play with your team and 272 in the elimination matches. We all remember from the New York Regional what it was like to play against you, and have found that while you guys are fierce competitors, you are even better alliance partners! It's a joy to find out that the newest Hall of Fame team is great to play with on either side of the driver's station.
The highlight of Ramp Riot, however, was when our cRIO fried. Yes, that's not a good thing, but when your mentors came out of your shop with a spare for us to borrow, our team rediscovered the true meaning of gracious professionalism. With the help of your team members, we had it installed and reimaged in time to play in the eliminations!
The atmosphere at Ramp Riot was truly the greatest, and we're looking forward to hopefully attending next year! We just wanted to thank your team, its members, and all of the volunteers whom made Ramp Riot great!

On behalf of 3204, we would like to thank you for such a wonderful event! It was so well organized! I think our team spent most of the time swooning over the picture with Obama on the back of your program, congrats! Hopefully we will see you sometime in 2011!

Thanks for all of the kind words.
I do have one correction to the published results:
Rising Star Award: Team 2607
I accidently wrote 2609 instead of 2607
My apologies to the Archbishop Wood, Robo-Vikings!
If anyone gets a chance, what was the name of the song used in the video?

Hey Duckie,
The song in the video was 300 Violin Orchestra, Jorge Quintero.
