Donut and a picture. Only thing missing is Dave.

[NAE]Also, I think you didn't give me my two points for the last round.

Registration volunteer: "No, I'm sorry. I just got a call from Dave Lavery that he won't be here."

Man in background: "So I didn't have to scarf the Krispy Kremes?"

Oops, quite similar to Alex's answer. I guess good minds think alike.

Ryan Simpson

Registration Volunteer: "Sir, if you haven't filled out the FIRST consent form, then you'll have to go to Line D."
Person Registering: I know that transportation is the theme of "Smart Moves", but did they have to go for authenticity by making registration a simulation of the DMV?

And I think you forgot my three points for the burn :(

"I don't care that you have a team of two people and everybody else has the maximum of ten. You STILL can't compete as a student if you're over 14! Oh, it's your little brother's robot and he couldn't make it due to a sudden soccer event? Nice try. Rich, you're acting too much like a cop with that donut. Get him out of here and tell him that if he tries to register again, we'll have the competitors build a wall to keep him out, and give them free reign on what defense mechanisms they put on, as long as only LEGOs are used."

(obviously not an entry)

Sure enough, this went awry--I think it was an internet connection problem that goofed up Google Docs. I've updated the spreadsheet to fix these two--if you see another error, let me know.

Is this pit administration? Um, this is our first competition, and we were sent over by the team for some things ... um ... it says we need a metric crescent wrench, a wire stretcher, a left-handed screwdriver, some dihydrogen monoxide, magic smoke ... um ... extra ones and zeros, and a 1/2 inch PVC flagholder. I think that's it. Oh, and a flux capacitor. Thanks.

What ISN'T a smart move? Having a KK when Dave doesn't.

[steve irwin voice]And here we see the the FIRST volunteer in its natural habitat. A strange species, the FIRST volunteer spends long hours doing difficult task for seemingly no reward, and is also known to decorate itself with strange items. Oh no! It appears we've been spotted![/steve irwin voice]

(Registration lady) Sir, you must put that donut in your hand right here in front of me on this table before I can sign you in.
(Guy in red hat) She tried that with me, but I wouldn't bite.
(Guy in black shirt) OK, now tell me again how you got that donut past her? I gotta write this down for next time
(Blonde lady) OK, here are the forms, can I get my donut back?
(Seated lady) No
(Guy in red shirt) OK, listen. I'll break it in half and you can have some, but I really can't let you have it all....
(Guy on radio, speaking to Registration lady) <OK, who has the keys to the donut locker?>

Rich: The event venue is all set up and the teams are ready to compete. All I had to do to get these great volunteers started was to offer them donuts and give them a t-shirt. This is awesome!

Rich: "I didn't know there would be this many!"
