Team 254 prouldy presents Shockwave, our t-shirt shooting robot. The robot was built from August to October 2010. Team 254 plans to use Shockwave to promote the team, our school, our sponsors and our community.

Shockwave features a ten-barrel revolver with gatling action, automatic barrel indexing and motorized adjustable pitch. The robot drives at 12+ feet per second and can shoot projectiles over 150 yards.

Visit our team website (http://team254.com/tshirtcannon/about) for additional information, technical specifications, photos and videos. Be sure to check out the videos page (http://team254.com/tshirtcannon/media) to see the robot shoot 3+ shoots per second.

Very sweet. And kudos for not making the barrel out of PVC ::safety::

That, good sir is awesome.
How do you fit T-Shirts into those tiny holes (no, that is not what she said)

Our teams t-shirt launcher is PVC (triple re-inforced), with one huge barrel of about 3 inches radius. Even tightly wrapped, T-Shirst still have to be stuffed in! I really would like to know how you made that beast-machine!

I expect my jaw will close sometime in the next half hour or so. The puddle of drool I'm making is a bit disconcerting.
When you start selling these, let me know.

Beautiful work, clean and polished like we all have come to expect from 254.

We were wondering why the Cheesy Poofs haven't posted their slew of awesome VEX videos.

They were building cannons ! Really nice work.

Do you guys have any faster buffering video links?
your website videos are not loading for me.

Somebody has to say this...

UNCLE!

(And I did look at the comments. Great way to raise the blood pressure. If anybody making the negative ones comes on here, I might wind up dishing out my first red rep...)

your website videos are not loading for me.You could try the videos on Gizmodo (http://gizmodo.com/5675616/10+barrel-t+shirt-gatling-gun-will-terrify-you-into-staying-past-the-3rd-quarter). They're embedded with Flash rather than HTML5, so you might have better results.

Team 254 prouldy presents Shockwave, our t-shirt shooting robot.

Very, VERY cool. The design, execution and craftsmanship live up to what I expect from 254 -- just a beautiful machine, in many ways.

Any chance we can get it to the VEX World Championships?

PS - Love the name...

Dude, me too. So sexy...

I have a question though, looking through the pictures, I see the tube that goes into the barrels from the pressure release (is that the solenoid valve?) but how do you maintain the seal between what seems like the polycarb backing and the shifting barrels when you go to fire?

Here's just another example of the standard of excellence that makes the Cheesy Poofs my personal favorite FRC team.

Well done to everyone involved in this project, it's truly a beautiful machine and I'd be insanely proud if I had a hand in making it. :D

Just to let you guys know how much this has impacted me, I have already contacted 4 of our alumni, and I am about to send out an email to 6 other people, 2 of which are mentors.

This is purely amazing. I have always admired the precision in all of your machines. Our team has the CADing power to do stuff like this, but we seem to work backwards; that is build the robot and then CAD it. I have never liked this process because it is more time consuming on both parts of things: Inventor needs to wait for the robot to be built to model it and manufacturing has to re-do things due to inaccuracies and test outcomes.

You guys have inspired so many teams to go above what they have done in the past, and at this moment, you have inspired us to do the same. :]
