View Full Version : Wanted: Single Sided Carpet Corner Tape
We were able to acquire a number of 2'x2' carpet squares. They were held together by either round or squares of clear tape that had a set of + alignment lines. (About 4" across) It looked like the installer put down the first row of tiles, stuck the ones in the row together and then stuck the next row on. (Wash, rinse, repeat)
I'm looking for the tape to use. Just the round or square sections of tape.
No I can't tape the carpet to the floor, nor can I glue or nail it.
Thanks for your help!

I think what your asking for is carpet seam tape. try Lowe's item# 205015.

Any carpet store has installers that use this stuff by the truckload; I bet they'd sell you a roll or three if you gave them a good story.
What I was looking for is FlorDots (http://www.flor.com/extra-flordots.html). They are very expensive at 12 for $5. I need about 600 of them.
I'm now thinking that my plan B will be get rolls of carpet tape and cut them into 4" squares.

You could also use velcro. Just like the old style of the field for the NASA FRC field. Put the velcro on two sides of each square and opposite for other pieces. so when you put them together they mate well. This way, if you ever want to move them around you can also.
So every piece would have the furry part of velcro on each side of the carpet. Then you would use cuts of the hook side to mate the carpet pieces together. It worked out very well for the NASA FRC field.
If you don't get what I am saying, I am sure someone else could explain it better.
