So who's FIRST Choice parts have come in the mail yet? 1727's has. We got an FTC kit, the aluminum extrusion, and a Jaguar. The FTC kit will be pretty helpful for spare parts for the minibot, and we can always use more Jaguars. But the aluminum extrusion turned out to be way huger than we thought, so we probably won't use much if any of it.

What does everyone else think about their order, and what did you get?

We also got ours today - FTC kit, extruded aluminum, and Granger tool set. Our motors though are not the specified motors though. The packaging has the correct model number (73903) but the actual motors are labelled as P/N 739023.

Does anyone know if FIRST is going to consider them interchangeable? Should we send them back to AndyMark for replacement? And yes, I've already emailed AndyMark but don't expect a reply until Monday.

I told our students I would check on ChiefDelphi! (And the Q&A forums...)

I heard this from FIRST today:

"For teams who received missing/damaged Pitsco minikit components, please contact
Pitsco at 866-349-5346."

I would guess that this would also apply to motors with odd numbers on them.

Sincerely,
Andy Baker

Thanks for the heads up Andy! I called FIRST today and the staffer that I spoke with said that there would be a clarification coming out either today or tomorrow.

Pitsco confirms that these motors will be permitted at the competitions.

Pitsco does not have the authority to say whether something is legal. They might be right, but until it's published by FIRST (in e.g. Bill's Blog, a Team Update, and/or a revision to the Game Manual) it is not official information.

True, and I expect that it will in tomorrow's update or the next Bill's Blog. I wasn't really worried about whether or not Pitsco should say that. I hope nobody else was either.

is anyone else upset because many choices were unavailable? i mean our team could not log in because our principle had the authority to access the information; well that caused a day delay creating a missed opportunity for 2 batteries...

Reports were that the batteries were in VERY short supply. But that's the way of the system--come to Kickoff guns blazing.

I should have chosen faster shipping.
Realistically we don't need it any sooner, but psychologically it's like waiting for a birthday present...:)
