Are we only allowed to use the motors that came in the kit or are we allowed to order more motors?

you can order more, but make sure that you dont go over the limit. Look in the manuel and it will tell you the maximum amount of motors that you can buy. For example you can only have 4 CIM motors. You can order other ones.

you are allowed to use:

1 fisher price motor
4 Cim motors
any combination of the 4 allowed Bane Bot motors
2 left window motors
2 right window motors

How you get these motors is up to you, but may I suggest you look at :
