View Full Version : Solenoid Fittings?

We want to use the festo double solenoid valve that came in the kit, but we're not sure how to hook it up. The manual suggests that the tube needs to be pushed in, but there are threads, which suggest fittings are required. What fittings, if any, do we need, and where can we find them?

Thanks for any help.

The fittings should have come in the same bag as the solenoid along with the wires to hook it up.

yes the solenoid fitting were included in the bag, there should have been 3 fittings, and 2 wires

I am member of a rookie team and brand new to Chief Delphi. I am not sure how to pose a question. Our team also plans to use a solenoid, but we have lost the instructions on how to hook it up. For the rectangular Festo with 5 ports (2,4 on one side; 1,3,5 on the other) Which is the inlet port, and which two are the outlet ports that go to the cylinder? Do we just plug the two ports we are not using? Also, were there supposed to be fittings to connect the tubing to the Festo? Is so, we must have lost those too.

I believe 2 and 4 are the outputs to the piston, 3 is the input from the storage tanks and 1/5 are the exhaust ports.

The top has two ports 4 and 2. These are the ports that go to the cylinder.

The bottom has 3 ports 5, 1 and 3. Port 1 is the inlet air, 5 and 3 are the exhaust ports for the air exiting the cylinder.

Don't plug the other ports, those are the exhaust ports and you want to plug these about as much as you would want to plug your car's exhaust (which I strongly advise against).
