The FIRST logo was scrolling across his hair/helmet thingy.

Did you notice the hint toward the logo in at least two places as well? Or hear the other words to the song he updated?

I heard it too. He also mentioned engenering, students, and keep the economy stimulated. I think he kept the promise to the best of his ability. No hat though.

Was it just me, or did the LOV look three lines short of a very familiar symbol?

Same here, I was watching him the whole time and never saw anything. Was anyone else suspecting the light-up people to form the FIRST logo? lol

The amount of pro-FIRST coverage was pretty amazing if you think about it.

He gave a shout out - the logo was flying across his head though the cameras only got it in one passing image - and he pushed the FIRST cause in the song lyrics.

Rumor has it that the programming on his LED head cover was programmed by a FIRST alum!

Overall, some strong exposure, and a demonstration of his support.

i missed the logo on his hat thing, and i barley heard the mentioning of FIRST because the bands audio kept dropping out. I was also busy raging that he didn't wear the hat Dean Kamen gave him

Yeah, you can only do so much i guess when all the planing is not up to you. He probably did his best and it was more of a shout out to the first community then appealing then anyone else watching.

If someone could post the picture of his hair lighting up wityh the FIRST logo, I bet everyone on CD would calm down on the complaining about no hat. So, anyone wanna find it and post it?

Yeah I missed out on it too, I watched the half-time show on TV so I think that's why I missed it.

The firm I work for was involved in a superbowl a few years ago. I have a little bit of a sense of how some of that planning works. Will.i.am did a great job with the FIRST shoutout. And it was the best super bowl show ever.

As far as I know, it was just reflections from the surrounding lights. I've scanned through a bunch of YouTube videos and there wasn't any obvious FIRST logo.

Look at :46 and :50 for part of the Logo and at 10:40 for the square

How many agents/producers were involved with the production of several big name artists? If they didn't have the costumes they did and more normal attire, I'm sure he may have been able to pull it off, but the halftime show wasn't about FIRST or even will.i.am.

The recognition FIRST did get in the small ways was huge!

I have to commend Will.i.am for doing what he did do, he went beyond FIRST as a robotics competition and instead left a message to the world about innovating and changing the world and he included FIRST in a subtle way.

From what I can tell his helmet did show the FIRST logo every so often and I find that cool as he used some nice technology to do that with the helmet.

Here are some screenshots from the 1080i stream of the superbowl

I think anyone who has been hating on him and this performance should apologize or it makes us look bad as a community and counteract what will.i.am did do.
