Am I the only one whose Inventor Studio is grayed out at inventor 2011? I've tried lots of different parts and assemblies and its unavailable in all of them.

If its only with me, can anyone help me (re)enable it? I have no idea how it got turned off

It should work fine.
Check your Add-ins and see that it is loaded.
Did you turn off UAC before install?
Have you installed Service Pack1?

I checked the add-ins and it says "Startup/Loaded", as most items in this tab. Nonetheless, it's grayed out. I tried unloading it and I realized it disappears from the Environments tab. I reloaded it afterwards and it didn't help, still shows up there but grayed out

UAC is always off here, so yes.

Communication center tells me that my software is up to date. I couldn't find anywhere else to figure out if I have SP1, but I remember (vaguely) downloading something like that just after I installed it.

 I don't know what else to do..

Have you installed Service Pack1?SP1 for what? Windows 7? That's still in beta, man.

No, the service pack for Inventor.

Daniel,

I just checked the Autodesk website and could not find any similar issues to the one you are having. You have some suggestions from other folks (thanks all), so let see if any of those work.

I've tried it all, none worked. I'm thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling using the dvds that came in the KOP this time (the first time I downloaded from autodesk website)
would I be able to use the same license?

You might try a Repair install before uninstall/reinstall.

If you go the uninstall route search google for Autodesk Inventor Clean Uninstall instructions and follow closely.

If it is the same version you can use the same serial number.

Daniel_H,

Any success to report?

Daniel_H,

Any success to report?

Today I used the Autodesk Inventor Clean Uninstall, downloaded it again from autodesk student community and reinstalled it.
No success. Inventor Studio is not even grayed out this time, it simply doesn't appear in the environments tab. I clicked in "Add-Ins" and Inventor Studio appears as Loaded and Loaded on Startup.

I uninstalled again, and this time I installed using the kit's Inventor DVDs to install. The problem persists.
There are two possibilities:
1 the problem is my cd-key, which I got at autodesk student community.
2 there's something in my computer. My hardware is pretty good (HP dv6-2190us), so could be something in the OS or who knows what else

I have had the same problem but with Inventer 2010. I just brought home 2011 from the KOP and will try installing that.

Hope it works.

It's nothing with your computer.
I just bought a Dell XPS 15 with an Intel i7. So it's nothing with your computer.
