I am curious what dewalt drills you used - dewalt seems to be out of stock of the standard ones till mid-march or later.

My understanding was somewhere local had them available, but these were ordered in week 1 or 2. I'm not sure what the options are, they're 3 speed dewalts.

crazy kicker/nona drive? not bad.
guy from less-veteran team n00b question: how do you shift those dewalts? manually between matches?

something tells me the two omni wheels on the front of the bot have a lot to do with the third CIM ;)

Has other wheels than those 4 visible? I'm guessing that there are at least two running perpendicular to the first 6 ran by the third CIM. Are you worried about being pushed around at contest seeing that your only going to have a maximum of two cims driving your robot? I know my team is planning on getting all 4 on the main drive train with the cimple boxes. ( Which are loud but i think they need more greasing)
I am truly jealous of your practice field. I've been working on my teams 1/4 version for two days now and still have another day of work to finish it up.

Not sure of the terms you used, but we've been calling it a "lateral drive".
Dewalts can be shifted with servos, or pnuematics.

Not concerned about being pushed around too much. The dewalts in 2nd gear are a pretty even match with this year's KOP gearboxes. The 2 motor drivetrain in 2nd lacks pushing power, but ideally we'll be quick enough to avoid the situation. In first gear, pushing back shouldn't be an issue.

We're very fortunate our sponsor, Nypro, provides the room for a near-competition size field.
