A very creative use of an extension ladder. No why didn't my team think of that before designing and building our own lift?:p
What's going to go on the end?
How fast is your robot? It looks pretty fast.

Wow, a living room.:yikes: Up till this year, my team has been working out of garages.

What are you guys using to pick the tubes up?
10m/s, is a pretty nice speed. Good luck at competition.

Is that an "H" or "slide" drive, like the omni part of a nonadrive, or just four omniwheels? If it is, what are you using to ensure that the wheels all remain on level ground?

Our team 1584 does all our work in a shop in the back of the school, I never knew we were so lucky to have a shop.

I concur.

I mean it could be improved, but for how short of a time it must've taken to get that running, it seems worth it...

its 4 powered omniwheels and its balance by even weight distribution

We were actually considering a prefabricated extension ladder as well, but decided against it. It was significantly different, with several telescoping stages (collapsing to a much lower height), but also with quite a bit more friction and plenty of complications for driving the thing. Our serpentine belt powered forklift, based off Teams 25, 254, 986, and probably more from 2007, went together much easier.

MIght want to consider switching the 2 front omni wheels for traction wheels. As it is arranged right now, just about any other drive train will be able to push you as much as they want plus the 4 omni wheels arranged like that don't give you any ability for holonomic motion.

That said, good job getting a robot designed and built in 5 weeks.

Maybe we don't have all the stuff that we would have in a shop at school, but can you spend a night or a whole weekend there? Can you just make some pizza? Can you just play XBox when you got nothing to do? And many many other thing. I think it's better to do that in a living room.
