So what kind of drives are you all using? I'm interested to see what the majority is this year.

We're actually going with our version of swerve. We initially wanted to do swerve, but we settled on what we are using. It's what we call Crab Drive, but its more sideways drive than anything else. 4 Wheels in the main frame, driven by 2 CIMs and 4 wheels in our secondary sideways drive frame driven by a Fisher Price motor.
I'm not going to put my vote in because our particular system is both off the wall and not listed; at least you know what we've got.
Is there a difference between "tank" and "arcade" other than control scheme?
We will be using an 8wd tank system with shifting driven by a single control stick (usualy called arcade style)

No. The only difference is the use of two joysticks over one.

mecanum for us.
arcade can be done with 2 sticks. I set up an old bot tonight to have a toggle to use two sticks to emulate an RC car type control or one for the drive team to mess with..

2 stick mecanum omnidirectional drive :D
For the first time ever we went mechanum (http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f327/X-Cats/2011%20Season/Week%205/?action=view¤t=MVI_3975.mp4). Our driver really likes it alot.

The only thing is, how tippy is it, our 2007 bot was really tippy, so this year, we designed 8wd with the possibility of lowering the middle wheels
