They powder coat it. Chances are, they do it before putting it together.

Good question.
Powdercoating took up at least 3 days of "wasted" time where our construction got interrupted, due to the fact that all of the electronics came off and got put back together, slowly, with some additional add-ons. PC does wonders making good welds look perfect. ;)

Our programming and drive team had it for almost a week to test, fine tune, and got our autonomous to work prior to PC. Once that was complete, they dropped the belly pan and removed 90% of the electronics in just minutes.

It scores on any of the top 3 pegs by the way during auto. :)

We're going to post a video soon on youtube of our build season, which shows auto scoring back in week 4 and powdercoating right in one of our shops.
