How Has FIRST Impacted Your Life?

For US History I have to write a research paper proving something that greatly impacts our lives as students and our futur. I thought what better to prove makes a futur for us then robotics.

I need first hand experices from students like myself telling me how you got into FIRST, how it effects your use of math and science, if your planning on going to a tech college, if you've gotten a scholarship from FIRST, and anything else you can think of. Things like how it shows you a fun way to learn and gets you thinking outside the class room or even just how fun and rewarding it is.

Anyone thats got a minute and can type up any info for me that would be great. Also include your age and where your from.

I got in as a sophomore after my friend told me about it. Little did I know, it would change my entire life. The people I got to ( and still) work with are great. FIRST provides real world experiences, deadlines, limits, and presents a perpetual challenge. Although I'm still a chemistry nerd ( which doesn't really apply to frc), I love having an actual use for math and science, as well as benefitting from the experience.
