Nice! I've seen the video somewhere a few weeks ago, but it's still an awesome video!

Cool! How heavy is it?

It's about 117. The bottom plate alone is 30 lbs, help keeping a low CG

That's very cool. Why did your team choose to go with all plastic?

That's very cool. Why did your team choose to go with all plastic?

For a couple of reasons:
1. We had a sponsor that supplied us with the starboard (or HDPE)
2. Its our rookie year and the shop that we would have to use is a wood shop and our family owns a CNC router and it cuts BEAUTIFULLY!
3. We knew are strategy was defensive so we weren't going to build an arm, and the HDPE is very robust and its slightly heavy thus a low CG

why did you choose to use mecanum wheels ?

well we wanted to have a fast depolyment of the minibot. Protobot (built in off season) was a 6 wheel tank and the drive team couldn't get it to line up. so we went with mecanums, but after going through West Michigan Competition...and getting pushed from the caution line to up against the scoring rack, we should have tried 8 wheel tank with traction wheels. O well, we learned our lesson!
