We are SO READY!!!!!!!!!
It's been torture waiting until week 5 to compete!
Going to be an awesome event, 72 teams, 2 fields and we're bringing our best...looking forward to some stiff competition!
Ought to be good. 2 fields.
2056 is looking to extend their regional win streak to 11, and join that elite group of teams that have won 3 regionals in the same season, having won FLR, and Waterloo (currently consisting of 51 (as 47 in 1998), 1114 (2006,2008,2010), 1124 (2008), 1024 (2008), 1503 (2006), and i think someone else did it in 2010)
1114 is looking to do it for a 4th time, having won Pittsburgh and Waterloo.
Being split up, its the first time since 2007 that a GTR winning alliance will not contain both 1114 and 2056.

Team 1241 is looking forward to an amazing event and is looking forward to competing in the GTR East Division. We also can't wait to see many of our other Canadian friends whom we have yet to compete with at Waterloo. Should be tones of fun!:D

Additions to your list of 3 regional winners. Granted districts aren't the same as a regional, but in my mind they're definitely equivalent, if not greater.
- 1124 only won one regional in 2008.
- 359 won 3 regionals in 2010
- 67 won 2 districts and 1 state championship in 2009
- 217 won 2 districts and 1 state championship in 2009
- 217 won a regional and 2 districts in 2010
- 469 won 2 districts and 1 state championship in 2010

I'm very excited for the 10th anniversary of the GTR. With the whole double regional (what does it meaaaan?) going on, there's going to be a constant barrage of matches. Plus there are many special ceremonies and presentations to celebrate 10 years of FIRST events in Canada. It's going to be a very special weekend!
@Karthik: I know nothing in an official capacity will happen, but will the Champions of GTREast and GTRWest play a game or 3, just for fun?
EDIT: My mistake on 1124. I thought I remembered 3 teams having done it in 2008. 1114, 1024, and someone else. I remember looking at an excel spreadsheet, (1114's scouting database, i think) that had multi-regional winners in a different color, and I was pretty sure that there was 3. Maybe I'm mistaken, though.

Didn't 67 win three districts in 2009? Lansing, Troy and Cass Tech along with States and Worlds? Being the first FIRST team to take home 6 Golds in one year...
Yes. They did: http://www2.usfirst.org/2009comp/events/DT1/awards.html
For some reason, its missing from frclinks.com/t/67 though.

Team 781 was ecstatic to be on the winning alliance on the west field along with 2056 OP robotics and 1547 Where`s Waldo! Our first regional win since 2002! This is very exciting for my first year going to St. Louis.
