The approved parts list for the minibot says you may use no more than 2 standard light switches. Does anyone know if this includes "2-way" light switches. I'd like to be able to switch a wire from one connection to another using a single switch if I can.

Thanks,

Well that simplifies things quite a bit. So I take it then that a decorator push button or rocker type switch woul be ok?

On a similar note, can the switches be drilled to have a screw through the handle to have more reach?

Yes, there are no rules that prevent such modification.

Make sure you bring documentation that indicates that switch is being marketed as a "light switch" to show the inspector. The light switch does not have to fit in a wall box, just marketed as a "light switch" for household use. Refer to TU12 (http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/Robotics_Programs/FRC/Game_and_Season__Info/2011_Assets/Team_Updates/Team_Update_12.pdf)

We used a common limit switch that comes in the kit of parts and bent the long metal piece around itself so when it gets pushed down, it stays down. So when the minibot reaches the top, the switch get's hit, the battery is removed from the circuit, a new circuit is completed that shorts the terminals on the motors so the minibot comes down nice and slow.
