Team 3237 Steel Magi is proudly to present our 2010-2011 robot.
Special thanks to team 1885 for inspiring our use of the high traction Lego tires, and to 1114 for setting an amazing example for all the robotics team out there.
Please visit https://sites.google.com/site/ftc3237/robot for all the details.
Currently only specs of the robot are online but videos and pictures of the robot will be uploaded BEFORE WOLRD CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
If you have any questions, please ask.

I like the elevator there - we tried to make one last year for the wiffle balls. (Except it didn't work because it used string.)
We have self-locking bridge-lowering devices similar to your horn, except we call them wedges. They use NXT motors - we ran out of servo ports with all the arms we have.

We'll definitely drop by your pits at World's!
Our team actually thought about putting LEDs on our robot's clear PVC scoring mechanism or just around the chassiss to signal blue / red alliance or magnetic baton but we kind of just put it off...
Once our "horn" has activiated, it locks itself and won't put anymore stress on the servo itself. Many other teams have physical ramp in front of their robot but due to size constraint we weren't able to pursue that. Other teams have powered arms to lower the bridge for them but our team thinks it's too vulnerable (espcially in autonomous) and it's not as efficient. It took us a while until we figured out the "horn" and implement it in the robot.
Thansk for all the kind words!

Yeah I had a website I found that sold different color MicroLED rolls. and so we bought some in Blue for my team and green for our other team Atomix. We actually have a strip of lights that come on when ever the scoring mechanism is activated.
We almost had to use a horn type thing ourselves but I found after whittling away at some lexan I got a curve that could bring the bridge down to the wheels. I was very impressed with the picture of your base the articulation of the front end. we actually made one of those for a side project it's a really cool design.

Yeah you're definitely right there. We've seen a lot of teams waste time trying to push the bridge down with an arm, and it can really complicate autonomous. Our team raised the outer wheels on our chassis so they will push the bridge when we drive over it. We added a fold out pusher ramp, similar to your horn, that can sit on the front of the robot during autonomous in case the bridge isn't level.

@ryanftc2827
:O Was my first reaction to that picture! I would be very interested in seeing your design in person, however I can't make it to worlds this year.
Is there any chance you could release the CAD of this robot to me so I could check it out and look at your teams construction techniques?
