Here is a preview of the CNN Documentary that Soledad O'Brian is making that will air May 15th. Don't Fail Me, Education in America. They followed three schools one on New Jersey, one in Tennessee, and one on Arizona. They will be filming more in St. Louis but they have a preview out now, here

This doc is to show what public schools are doing to promote extracurricular STEM.

1403 from NJ. Awesome. How they didn't win Chairmans at Philly with this on their belt I have no idea.
Who is the TN team?
This looks exciting. Just wait - FIRST will have a reality show yet. Now just to pick what channel - Discovery, A&E. . .no wait . .OWN. :D

Looks awesome. I love how dramatic they make the beginning.
Anyone know if this is what they were filming when cameras were following Dean Kamen everywhere he went at Philly?

if 1403 was featured in this, and they went to philly... it makes sense to me. idk if thats the real reason but that makes sense to me
CNN was also filming Dean and a team at Smoky Mountain. Gave our field crew quite a headache at times trying to keep them safe and out of the way.

It will be a 1 hour with commercials, so 45 min. That is a lot of footage!
I am curoious to see if anything changes for us oe any team after the doc airs. We could sure use more sponsors, we lost most of them due to the economy.

I think you are right
Congratulations and a big thank you to the teams that participated. Although it may seem very exciting at first, it is really a difficult task to juggle the success of the kids with the needs of the documentary crew.
When we worked with PBS back in 2008, it made for a tough (but rewarding) season. I don't know who the other teams are, but 1403 is awesome and will represent FIRST well in the film. I can't wait to see it.
Thanks again to the teams that agreed to work with CNN.

Last year we had the AZ republic follow us all year and then CNN called and asked. It is a little more challenging, but you are right about it being worth it!

Both teams that I know of, 842 and 1403, are great teams in FIRST and I cannot wait to see how it all turns out. They will both represent the true meaning of FIRST and what FIRST is all about. I'm sure CNN did a fantastic job! :)
