View Full Version : Archiving the Championship

Alright, let's see if we can get every match from all 4 divisions archived this year.
I am pretty sure I will have equipment together to archive Archimedes, but until I'm 100% certain I'll leave it as open.
It would be great if we could get 2 people on each field, but that may be getting a little greedy

What would be nice is getting all of Einstein, Including Dave's team intros along with speechs. They are they best part of Einstein some years, like in 2009..

Einstein should definitely have it's own, dedicated recorder. Last year, after the division finals finished, I was not allowed to get to the Einstein AV station, as I did not have a "national" media pass. In the A-Z team guide, it appears the same rules will be in place this year (emphasis added).
Media Passes
Each team will receive one (1) non-transferable Media Pass and related
instructions/caveats in its registration packet. Media representatives are permitted in
designated access areas around the playing field only during their team’s
matches. They are not permitted on the playing field surface, areas marked off for
human players, on the Dome floor during final rounds or ceremonies, or in any private
venues, VIP, volunteer, or judges’ areas. Mascots cannot be the team media person.
Because of that, it would be best if there was a recorder on Einstein by lunchtime on Saturday.
My Pinnacle Video Transfer died this year, so I can't sign up for anything.
We can cover Galileo. (it will be a few weeks before anything is parsed and ready)
What hours of Einstein needs to be recorded?
We have DVR that we've used in the past that we could connect there and record, we just need a general idea of hours.
Thanks -
DeAnna

I'll probably be doing Archimedes as a test for our local regionals up here in NE. If no one covers Curie I can do it but it might take a while to get things up and I can't guarantee 100% success so I'd rather double a field.
We will be taking full field video of Galileo (ie: video in which you can actually see what's going on and not the big screen video zoomed in on a nonfunctional robot the entire match). I imagine with some prodding we could get it online afterwards.

We have a second pinnacle that we can likely put on Einstein early. The unit was a bit flaky powering up the last time we used it, but should work for an extended stay - if someone else has a spare unit we definitely wouldn't bump them :)
368 is on Curie this year and will be taking video once again. Last year we stopped recording when we were eliminated (by 469 and 1114 in the quarters). I will ask about recording everything (whether we make elims or not) then we'll get everything that we record onto YouTube as we've been doing for our past few competitions now. We're just worried about being able to get a decent view on the pit fields which will be where the majority of the Curie matches will be :( ...

I recorded Archimedes and Einstein. I won't have time to parse the matches until July. Any volunteers? I also have San Diego.
The audio quality on my pinnacle isn't great, so since there were several people recording Einstein, it would probably be better to use one of theirs.
Archimedes: 16gb
Einstein: 1gb
San Diego: 9gb

I can do Archimedes. Let me know how you want to get me the files.
Curie matches will populate over time here (http://www.youtube.com/user/mckinleyrobotics#p/c/3361487F029F2C45).

Just finished naming and uploading the Newton matches to TBA.
Am really excited to see the other championship fields up on TBA this year, as we were pretty focussed on the Newton field events. Thank you to all of the folks making it possible to see the matches on line.

I'm on TBA and it appears there is no video for any of the matches. Am I looking in the wrong place?
http://www.thebluealliance.com/event/2011new
We've uploaded to TBA before, but it didn't get posted so we've moved away from that and just put matches up on YouTube. YouTube has many advantages (no quality loss, etc), so we prefer to do it that way. If I'm not mistaken, I read someplace that TBA will have links to videos as an alternative to them hosting the videos at some point.

Thank you for that.

I think I was mistaken. Read what someone else had wanted to be able to do in another thread. Wishful thinking...

We haven't posted the Newton videos to youtube.
The guys are in the process of uploading the Einstein and Newton videos to our team web site. Will post the link when the videos are up - expect that it is going to be a couple more days.

Sorry about that. I had some stuff come up that delayed me from getting started on parsing Joe's footage. I should have a good chunk of it done and uploaded to TBA by the end of the day tomorrow and I hope to have it finished by Thursday, Friday at the latest.
Does anyone have video of the Einstein Finals?
Thanks,
-Duke

Sorry it took me so long guys, but I got all of the Archi matches parsed out of Joe's footage. I finished getting them uploaded to the TBA FTP this morning so they will hopefully be up on the public side soon.

It has been a long wait, but the Newton and Einstein videos are finally up on the Tator website under the media tab. www.teamtators.org
The videos are pretty good quality, but you will need to wait a bit longer for the load. Please enjoy!

Hey I get the following error message when i click on einstien or newton on the media tab. Is there some setting I am missing to watch the videos or is there something wrong with my network.
Not Found
The requested URL /~teamtato/Media/Newton.htm was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Thanks for posting the complete URLs to the video
Newton Video:
http://www.teamtators.org/Media/Newton.htm
Einstein Video:
http://www.teamtators.org/Media/Einstein.htm
We are seeing variation in the server's path dereferencing without changes to the code. We are investigating, but the complete URLs seem to avoid the variation cause.
Thanks again,
Mark

Thanks for archiving Newton! It's great to be able to watch such high quality videos of all our matches!
Curie matches will populate over time here (http://www.youtube.com/user/mckinleyrobotics#p/c/3361487F029F2C45).
With just three matches missing (18, 67, and 102 which will be salvaged later from the Curie feed which we recorded), the almost complete full field Curie matches with alliance selection video included can now be found here. Enjoy.

Thanks for everyone's hard work. I could not watch all four fields at once on webcasts especially once eliminations hit. Now everyone can enjoy the matches such as Newton Qualifying Match 39. Maybe 118 should make it part of their 2012 prank by mentioning how 148 was one uber-tube short of a maximum score.

Whoops, we weren't monitoring our FTP folder, so didn't notice that folks had added videos! Thanks so much for the archived videos, we'll get them converted this week!
