I couldnt find the old thread from last year.
As we expected, our biggest fundraiser event next week, but probably no robot to demo again.
Our fedex no. doesnt even appear in the system, so I guess its still at the drayage site.........we hope.

Nope. Although I wish we did as we have traditionally shown it off at our spring pep rally... which was today! :(

Sorry.

Glenn,

We got our robot back today in Burbank, CA.

I think it was picked up by FedEx Freight directly from the loading dock at the convention center without an intervening stop at the drayage facility. (At least I hope so, otherwise we'll be stuck with a $300 overweight drayage fee.)

We got our bot back a few days ago too. The tracking number was not in the system either until AFTER I was informed from the local Fedex facility that the crate was in RI for delivery!

We got our crate back yesterday (5/6).
But we're only in Philadelphia, so it wasn't a long trip.

Team 811 in New Hampshire got ours back on Wednesday (wow, never thought it would be so quick!)

We even had it up and running for a school pep rally on Friday -- sweet! :D

Our robot still seems to be at the drayage facility. We're having some missing paperwork issues at this time.

Team #935 still waiting on robot. Our tracking number does not even show up in the system! We have several events next week that are critical to funding. Have any other teams got there robot back without having the FED EX pro number in the system?

After looking at this thread, I checked to see if ours came in, and there it was on the loading dock. Nobody notified me that it came in. (Normally someone will tell me to get my big box out of the way!)

Looking at the tracking number, it shipped out the 5th and we got it the next day. Were 2.5 hours from CMP.

We got ours back early Sunday morning, May 1st. Got permission to bring it back with us. :D

Same with us. Got it home Sunday May 1 around 11:30am, after 14 or 15 hours of bumping around under the bus.

We have had ours since last Tuesday also (5/3). Of the teams that have our crates how many were in Newton located by the exit to the Dome?

We received our robot crate back already; don't know the exact date of arrival. (We were in Newton in the nook between the fields.)

57 is still waiting, no tracking info with Fedex. I think 3103 is the only houston area team that's gotten their robot back. They were in Newton. Team mom/regional director is lighting some fires to figure out what's going on with our crates.

I'll note that I was kinda hoping to ship tools and things home in the crate and carry the robot out and borrow space on a bus from another Houston team to get the robot back in time for a sponsor's Open House. I was told that we had waited too long AND rules said you either shipped everything in the crate, or carried the crate and everything in it out of the competition in some fashion. I'm still having trouble believing something that nonsensical, but my admin people insist it's true. Did any of the teams that carried their robot out try to ship the crate back separately? Did you have any problems?

We picked up our crate at Fedex today. It arrived at the local terminal a day or so ago. We picked it up ourselves due to unloading conditions at our facility. We had the same problem as everyone else in regards to trying to track the crate in the Fedex system. It never showed up in any of our attempts to track it. Just for reference we are only 200 miles west of St. Louis. We were in the Curie Division.

Ours just showed up in the FedEx system today and is listed as having been picked up yesterday and should be delivered tomorrow. Much better than last year when ours was the only bot left after a month because they thought we didn't pay...

I gotta check ours now!
With our fundraiser tomorrow, is it possible we get it in time?:p

Hey folks, Shepard transfered 14 truckloads of crates to FedEx last week and FedEx said they are processing about 2 truckloads a day. They said all crates should be processed through FedEx by Friday, 5/13. Ours is coming in Friday. Remember, this is all donated shipping by FedEx. THANK YOU FEDEX!!

We still haven't gotten our robot back, and we're half an hour away from downtown St. Louis.

Next time, submit the request to just take your robot home after CMP (or ship home an empty crate, if you know what I mean).

We got our robot back yesterday.

I wonder if FIRST/Shepard could ask for a requested delivery by date, and use that to prioritize shipments. I'm sure they couldn't meet everyone's requests, but it would be better then it is now.

Just received ours on 5-13-11, and we are only 4 hours from St. louis, so distance doesn't appear to be much of a factor.

We got ours on Thursday last week, unpacked it, and took it two hours later to our event.
We launched minibots about 100 times for a couple of hours, which the participants loved.

We're located on the Big Island of Hawaii and had to wait a week in past years to just get our KOP so I figure we're about as far out as you can get. We just got our bot today. It was good to see our baby home in good shape. We can sleep at night now.

XXcelsior arrived at the TechnoKats shop today. Less than ten minutes after it was carted inside, the students had it out of the crate and on the practice field.
