Would you mind elaborating on that? Do you mean there might be 16 teams instead of just 8?

There will be at least 3 stages(6 fields) that will be at Disney. This means 3 matches or 12 teams competing at one time which is much better than only 8 teams participating at once like orrigionally planed. From what our agent said, there is a possibility of a 4th stage (2 fields). More Stages = More Qualifying Matches (Read other messages on Rumor Mill).
Hope this helps.

Again,
This information is NOT correct. There will NOT be 3 stages...and no thoughts
of 4 stages. The total is 2 stages....4 playing fields.
You might want to tell your 'agent' that the info they're giving out is
incorrect. Do you have any idea where they're getting this info??? I'm
curious now.

Thanks Lori,

I guess we have our answer as to whether or not FIRST actually reads these messages!

2 stages. Okay by me.

I'm not sure where the info comes from, but there will be only 2 stages at
Disney this year...each with 2 playing fields.
FIRST is doing the best they can to make sure that teams get to play as
many matches as possible...and they play will already be going into the
evening hours as it is.

I just got this e-mail from Lori...

There will be 2 stages, each with 2 fields on it.
The qualifying matches will begin at 6:30pm Thursday evening April
22....and continue through Friday and Saturday morning to ensure that
everyone gets 6 matches. The finals will be the top 16 seeded teams...then
choosing their alliance....for a total of 32 teams....then 16 other teams
will be chosen....details to follow on how that will be done. There will
be a total of 48 teams in the quarter finals......playing on 2 stages until
the finals...which will be played on the 'big' stage.

If the competition starts at 6:30, when do we find out about our schedules? How many matches will each team be in?
