Awesome trophy guys!

Hmmm, Maine. It's got perfect weather in September. It's a little far from NJ, but not too bad. Hmmm...

And not far from the Bay of Fundy, largest tides in the world. Might be worth a trip.

The "fun" (where you see ridiculous tides) parts of the Bay of Fundy are a full day (8 hours) of driving away in Canada. Eastport does get a neat whirlpool though.

If you want great views of the coast, Acadia National Park is probably your better bet. Bar Harbor has more than enough touristy goodies if hiking isn't your thing, or after you've driven to the top of Cadillac Mountain. Rockland/Camden are only an hour and half away from Oakland and are also a nice place to spend a day or two. :)

Don, we would love to have team 1676 come to Maine. I think the trophy would look great in your trophy case.

I know 1153 is coming up and have fun. It is an excellent time of the year for the new students to learn what it's all about, at the beginning of the school year, instead of "just you wait until the competitions".

Also, any qualms for us (me and my wife, not the whole team  ) to come early and help build the field and volunteer? We've sent messages but no responses. Maine is such a nice place for a couple of days off, and it would be a shame just to go up for a 1-1/2 days. :)

Also, good work on that trophy! Ah-yep!

Definitely, we can use all the help we can get!

We've sent messages but no responses.

Same here. We want to help but only if we get confirmation beforehand - please get back to us asap so we can block that weekend out.

Jessica,

I am sorry I can't give you a definite answer. We are still up in the air about the event, we still need three more teams for the event to be viable.

We will make our decision on September 8th.

Best,
Blake

Best,
BlakeYour website needs to list what teams are attending. Sometimes knowing who will be there or not helps draw other teams to the event.

I'm sure there will be more teams after school starts. Maybe send a invite email to teams? Boston schools start Sept 8th (tight against your deadline).

Got an email last night - thanks for keeping us posted! Hearing about what you're still waiting on is better than no answer at all.

Those of you who are coming, please let your mentors know about the Non-Engineering Mentor Organization (NEMO) meeting from 10am to noon (mentors can come and go as they need to). We'll be talking about any non-technical topic of interest to the group - from fundraising ideas to teambuilding to travel planning and everything in between.

I'm also holding a meeting for the pre-rookie team mentors at 9am. Rookie mentors from veteran teams are welcome to attend also! We'll do a season overview so everyone knows what to expect this year.

Room locations to be determined... check at the registration table for more info.

First off, on behalf of everyone on Team 190, I would like to thank everyone who came to play on Saturday. We all had a lot of fun, despite leaving WPI at 0400!

Special thanks to team 58 who brought us a c-Rio from their shop after we thought ours was dead. You certainly deserved the "Wicked BFF" award.

A big thank you and congratulations to our alliance partners "3511", a pre-rookie from Maine. You guys did a fantastic job rocking the midfield, giving us plenty of space, time and tubes to score. We could not have won the event without you (which, incidentally, is why we picked you). Good luck this season!

Finally, a big thanks to team 2648 for hosting the event. It was very well run, and everyone on the team had a fantastic time! If you are in the northeast, you should seriously consider attending next year!

It's a little sad that our "3511" prototype robot beat our "1153" competition robot, but it was fun to watch that li'l robot run around the field.

Sorry that no one told you which way was forward (and that it had a very active autonomous!) before the first match, or you wouldn't have gotten that penalty when it went running off to the wrong side.

I hope missluce and the rest of the 2648 team have recovered from the fun. You all did a lot of hard work to make this event fun!

I guess that's what happens when we break the elevator and transmission, run out of batteries and overheat the driver station.

Thank you 2648 for running the event, and congratulations to 190 and 3511 (or whatever they'll be in January).

Currently Maine has 11 teams registered. By the end of the week we hope to be at 12.
Thanks to everyone that made the trip up to Mainely Spirit!!!
