As always, the deadline is nominally Saturday at midnight Eastern. I'll be at Tempest 'N Tampa this weekend--if you see me (and can catch me), feel free to submit your entry in person!
Go!

Isn't the game Aim HIGH? Seems rather low to me.
A week ago, the same mentor was doing the same thing--but the students had rigged a false bottom on that bin. You think it's bad when the bottom of the bin is solid... Try after it collapses to hit you low and the next shot deflects under your safety glasses.

You sure this is an official recycling container?!? I put them in but they keep shooting back out!

You really think this is how I should hold it for a test???
"Whoa, did you see 375 has a floating tote? That's wicked awesome."
"Naw, you just can't see the guy holding it. He's wearing camouflage."

When the inspectors saw this proposed solution for measuring maximum shooter speed, they insisted on the radar gun instead.
Does this bin make me look fat?

Announcer: "Tonight on Candid Camera. We substituted these innocent looking poof balls with bowling balls. Stayed tuned to see what happens next".

Waking up in the hospital hours later, the mentor mumbled, "Bin there, done that."

Robots is serious business. Here, a team is using military-grade poof-proof deflectors to test their high-tech shooter.

Here you see the mentors in full camouflage, hunting their 'bot, hours after it got lost from the heard. Don't worry, it wasn't their fault. The watchdog just had an error.

This worked really well two years later, when he balanced the bin on his head and caught trackballs.

Bin Laiden vs The Robotic Plague

What you can't see are the portals in the bottom of each bin.
It would seem ACME sent the wrong size of box. Lets watch as the elderus mentorus figures it out. Looks like its another story of how the bot got away.

(Not an entry)
I saw Mike, who is now a Senior Mentor for NYC, this morning at Maker Faire in Queens. They had 375's FRC bot, along with 2 FLL fields and a FTC field, all of which were very well-attended.
He was surprised that photo was chosen for a caption contest, but remembered it vividly. Quote "It hurt!".

Don't look now, but a ninja seems to be sneaking up behind you!
(I didn't notice it at first, then I noticed he suddenly had 3 arms and I was like:ahh: )

[not an entry] I think you just avoided the win by making some of that not an entry... I'll let you figure out which part.

1. Maybe that setup contributed to Making a Fairie? :ahh:
2. I think this might tie the record for non-entry posts in the caption contest.
3. I'm not trying to win by appealing to Billfred's sense of humor. Aside from the obvious (it's his that counts, and it's warped) I enjoy humor for my own sake. I think I'm pretty funny. It's just that I have a hard time convincing others...
This bin survived Stack Attack. Only to be mutilated again in Aim High.
I've known a lot of balls in my day - jai ali, marble, hand, hard, base, washer, basket, jacks, cannon, paint, racquet, lacrosse, screw, odd, ben wa, beach, medicine, tennis, bearing, cheese, whiffle, disco, fire, ping pong, high, kick, pickle, billiard, black, blue, snow, low, bocce, soccer, golf, goof, dodge, moth, bowling, volley, point, polo, mouse, cotton, foot, soft, to the wall, squash, cricket, croquet, crystal, ground, stress, fur, gum, rugby, super, bucky, and exercise -
but these are the freakiest of them all balls!

You wanna go back to -infinity, Rotolo? :P
Apologies for the delay--between Tempest 'N Tampa and a fundraiser for 2815, I had two 12-hour days this weekend with an 11-hour train ride in between. Let's just say that the BIWWTM Rule would've been an understatement. :)
