Our robotics team 2022 has a preseason activity planned, and we're calling all Chicago land area FIRST teams!
The premise is such.
Our principal has been recently diagnosed with ALS.
(ALS, is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.)
Feeding himself is already becoming a tolling task, and robotics has the ability to better his life a bit.
Robotic arms can be bought for millions of dollars at the moment, but this technology should be available to everyone!
Our "game" is to develop a robotic arm that can be manufactured with less than $1500.
