just wanted to say to all rookie teams, particurlarly #308 who seemed a little upset about the outcome at the nationals. don't worry about it. The what-ifs kill everyone and it's exactly what the people who don't understand the purpose of FIRST care about so don't worry, cause in just two years-i've seen and plenty. Broken trantorques, out-of-spec pieces, tipovers, rules violations. but it takes a little luck. But remember luck comes when preparation meets oppurtunity. so just hang on and remember that you all REALLY are winners!

Hey!
I gotta say, this being my first year doing this, it's the most fun I've had in a long time. And the upset thing, maybe a little, but more dissapointed. I know that I'm dissapointed for not making the finals, but hey, I'm just happy that we did as good as we did :) And to all the teams going to the West Michigan thing, I'll see ya there!

I wouldn't say they've missed the point. I think anyone who doesn't think about the what-ifs after trading in 6 weeks of sleep for a 4 foot tall robot is the one who missed something in this. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great you can be content. I wish it were that easy for the rest of us. We can be proud, but not content.
By the way, I love FIRST and haven't regretted one minute I've spent on this project. I'm just trying to relate to T-308, T-190, T-45, and all the other wonderful teams that got unlucky somewhere along the way.
Thanks FIRST for a great game and I'll see you all next year!

I couldn't have said it better.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am maybe the most competitive guy on the planet. I don't care what I get involved in, I have trouble feeling content about it unless me or my team wins it all. And even then I start to wonder if I did it with good enough style. But anyway, that may be one of my biggest faults at times, but at times it is an asset to me (like when I was in school, I always had to have the highest grade in my class, which was good for my GPA).
We were a little unlucky, but a lot of it was our own fault. I made a post on the General Forum explaining why I'm losing some sleep over this.
But like I said in a post below: we'll bounce back. I don't regret any of the time I spent, and I'll be back next year.
