I heard there are problems with running AutoCAD for mac with Lion. Well, I am running Lion, and really don't want to downgrade to Snow Leopard unless I really need to. I heard there was a program (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=17309425&linkID=15839490) in beta that would fix the problems, but I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this, and if they had anything to say about it. Also, are there any other CAD softwares that are free and mac-friendly?
Thanks!

Im not much of a Mac person, but I remember it is possible to run Inventor on a Mac.
You will need to do some fancy things first. The system reqs for Running Inventor on a Mac are here: http://usa.autodesk.com/autodesk-inventor/system-requirements/ .
Just scroll down to "For Autodesk Inventor 2012 Macintosh Users".
If you install everything that they ask for, you should be able to use Inventor on your Mac! (I believe all you need is a Windows Partition)
One extra hint: It may be worth investing in a three-button mouse. It is possible to use Inventor without one, but it is TOUGH.

SuperNerd256, only AutoCAD for Mac 2011 had issues with Lion (as far as I know). I actually did run into this problem where it would not launch, and then I noticed AutoCAD 2012 was available in the Mac App Store (and about a week & a half later, on students.autodesk.com). So, far I've yet to run into any issues with the 2012 version. It runs like a dream.
