Hey guys,

If our team were to buy the new cRIO next month, October 3rd, and received it. Would RobotPy work even though the other languages wont until kick off? So could we use the new one for Python until kickoff? Or would we still have to wait?

Anyone know anything? Thanks!

If c++ doesn't work, Python doesn't work.

The new cRIO FRC II won't work until Kickoff regardless of the programming environment.

It won't be shipped until late November/early December even if you order it Oct. 3, and the cRIO/FPGA image and tools won't be released until Kickoff.

I think we may order one then too, so it doesn't get lost in other holiday shopping. :)

294 is a beta test team (and we'll also be buying the new cRIO FRC II in October) so we'll do our best to ensure RobotPy is ready to run on the new cRIOs immediately after kickoff (same as the other languages).

To update: RobotPy is happily running on the 4-slot cRIO we are currently beta testing. Demo'ed it with Kinect last week at the San Diego Fall Workshops (and will again this weekend at the SCRRF Fall Workshops in Northridge).
