As always, the deadline is sorta kinda theoretically not really Saturday at midnight Eastern.
Go!
For Inspiration and Recognition of Screams and Torture competition seasons are pretty brutal.

Though most teams laughed at the thought of attaching metal to their team members and having them pass as a robot. Team 383 decided to give it a try.... :D

Read this through your teeth: "Hey, this is really funny, guys. Let's take it off now. What's that look for? Wait - what? Hey! Hey! Don't just leave me here! Help!"
Yet another example of why you don't let robotics students become dentists.
After years of searching, Manoel finally found the elusive wire stretcher. Since he's already got the metric crescent wrench, the flightline, the board stretcher, the left-handed screwdriver, the spark plugs from an '83 Corvette, the blinker fluid, the muffler belt, and the 1/4-19 bolts, he's successfully completed the scavenger hunt, and he can become an official Pit Administrator.

In order to rein in some of the horseplay going on in the shop, a mentor came up with this stylish head piece. All the students could do was shake their heads and whiney.

Ah, the cultural differences exhibited in FIRST! In Brazil this is an expensive orthodontic device while in Wisconsin it is just another giant cheese slicer.

Nothing to see here folks. Just another one of them robotics people with some Do-it-yourself do-hickey that'll change the world somehow. I only wonder what that thing could be....

"Waddya mean robotics kids can't make and use their own headgear for football?!?!?"

Secret photo smuggled out of GDC labs indicates that we'll have another "robo-coach" this year. The human player directs the robot by grinding his teeth.

Behold, the world's first cyborg! The future stands right in front of you, complete with REAL human emotions and ALL five senses!.....Don't mind the noise that sounds like someone moaning in pain, that's just a small malfunction in the prototype. That will be fixed in the next model, along with the addition of Segways for legs!

[/sarcasm] This is absolutely a brilliant idea guys. Robot orthodontia is obviously the future. [/sarcasm]

Manoel's efforts to create a Gizmo Duck Halloween costume weren't going so well.
For those of you who don't get the reference....you aren't cool!

Well, at least we know that Manoel had his head on straight at the beginning of build and is just trying to keep it that way.

Kids, THIS is why you need to get off the field before the start of a match...
First there was the spaghetti incident, now this...

Of course the headgear isn't noticeable, just shut up and smile for the camera! Its not like this picture is going to ever be judged for its potential of comical captions anyway....
Well mostly comical, but who's judging.... O yea, Billfred
Once he realized that joining a robotics team wasn't going to keep the women at bay, he had to act fast. Now, he'll never have to worry about cooties ever again.

Who allowed Jigsaw from the SAW franchise on the GDC?!
Manoel wishes he parents would have sent him to a orthodontist other than their cousin Dr. Lecter.
This really should have been mandatory equipment for any field personnel in 2010. Soccer balls to the face, man...

Safety Captains on 383 have been known to become very irritated when people fall asleep in the workspace, some even go the distance and perform a pain inducing surgery robbing the person of sleep forever.
Are you sure Dean Kamen got his start this way?
