Hi OCCRA,
I have been puzzled by this question for a while, but just tipped into asking by recent experience with one of the OCCRA Kit motors.
How might we learn from the collective experience of OCCRA participants if ALL old posts are deleted each year? Or am I just not looking in the right place or with the right methods?
The particular straw:
Our team resolved that the Keyang Rear Gate motor would be a very good choice for one of the robot's critical functions (the claw to grasp the ball!). Worked great for a while, then stopped. Some disconnect within the motor-to-shaft transmission.
OK, find and install another motor. Same experience. And again.
So, the transmission seems to fail by design at something less than the motor stall torque. Since this motor has been in the Kit for at least a few years, this must have been noted and discussed some time in the past. But I cannot find it.
Thanks,
Clint
