View Full Version : holiday gifts
I have a few nephew's who are just getting into robotics :yikes:
They are just getting started with Lego Robotics. I am looking to help in their new love by getting them so robotics themed gifts for the holidays. Nothing to expensive (under $50). Does anyone have any suggestions.

Or, you could teach them how to make their own.
There's an ad in a relatively recent PopMech for Radio Shack. Their new thing is "The Great Create," trying to get people into DIY projects (using parts from their stores, of course). Anyway, this ad's project is, essentially, a Hexbug.
I would post a link, but I can never seem to find the projects i see in PopMech on the Great Create website, and I don't have a QR reader (they have a QR code for each project), let alone a smartphone, I can't find the detailed instructions anywhere.

Might want to check out today's Woot (http://www.woot.com) and Kids Woot (http://kids.woot.com/) for Hexbug products at discounted prices.
Not sure if that's too simple for a 10-year old or not. My memory is fading. I do remember that I was running a lathe at about 14.
