The Lake Superior Regional is held at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center in Duluth, Minnesota. Last year was the event's inaugural with 41 teams competing. This year the venue is full with 66 teams competing from Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
So who is excited for the 2012 Lake Superior Regional!?!?!
Team 2470 will be staying at The Edgewater Resort & Waterpark. Will there be any other teams joining us in the waterpark this year? Last year we were pretty lonely!

I'm definitely excited to be at this stacked event with some outstanding outstate teams including 1625, 1714, 93, 2062, 2826, as well as many of the best from MN.
We are looking forward to the Lake Superior competition and meeting all the new teams. Should be exciting this year.

This is going to be a very competitive regional! Please pm me with links to pictures or videos of your team. I am going to try to find as many team's robots as possible.
Props to 2052 for having tons of pics on their website of other robots!
I am from Rookie Team 4228. Somebody on our team was told to bring "Bling" to share with other teams we are competing against as a sign of gracious professionalism - perhaps something with our name on it?
Any suggestions on what to bring? What are some things other teams have done?

Buttons are the default standard item, but pens or other trinkets are common as well.
Props to 2052 for having tons of pics on their website of other robots!
No problem, excited for the regional! ::safety::
CORE 2062 is looking forward to making the trip to Duluth tomorrow.
We are staying at the Hampton on Canal Park Drive.
Looking forward to seeing a lot of you folks there!
My team, 4228 (iRobotics) from GFW+mncs is going up and staying at the Holiday Inn downtown.
Should be very fun and educational since this is our first competition ever...just not looking forward to getting up at 1:55 a.m. tomorrow morning

Must say that the Lake Superior Regional crew throws an awesome competition. The DECC has a great physical layout - concessions in the pits with tables and chairs, lots of room, bathrooms are plentiful. The music volume was nice through quals and they pumped up the volume for finals, with great tunes.
For the second year, or any year, great job. Thanks for a good time.
It was very fun.
Congratulations to Norse Storm, King Tec, and More Robotics.
We are very pumped about winning all star rookie award

You should be! Congrats on a great first-ever regional. I expect to see a lot of 4228 in the future!
Thanks to all the teams, it was a great competition this year. It was one of the best competitions that I have been to, including the venue and the teams. Also, thanks to our alliance partners, 2052 and 2826, you guys were great to play with. Congratulations to the winning alliance, you guys were worthy opponents.
1) This regional ran perfectly. No big delays, no technical glitches evident from the stands except for the Senator's video hiccups. Lots of good food all around, plenty of room in the pits (including the aisles), great sound, great MC and announcers.
2) Several of our parents and team members made the same comment: The system worked, and the best robots won. Congrats to King-Tec (best dancers at the regional!), More Robotics (What's better than Robotics? Nothing - you guys were perfect, couldn't possibly do any More!) and Norse Storm (love the battle-axe - much cooler than a flag!).
You should be! Congrats on a great first-ever regional. I expect to see a lot of 4228 in the future!
Thank you!
By the way why did no one take Nordic Storm earlier? They were ranked 3rd by our scouting standards/opinions (I also remember them because of the sick nasty axe  )

Thank you to the Regional Planning Committee for another outstanding event!!
I'd also like to thank all the teams who made the trip up to the North Country for the weekend. For a Lead Robot Inspector, a 60+ team regional can be a very intimidating experience. The teams all did an excellent job of being ready and of getting started coming in early for inspections. We only had 9 teams that were not completely inspected on Thursday, and all teams were inspected before their first match. I have two groups I credit for this, and want to thank both groups: First, I'd like to thank my outstanding group of volunteer Robot Inspectors. Second, I would like to thank all the veteran teams that were going out of their way to help every team that needed something, both those teams that traveled here from out of state, and the veteran Minnesota teams.
It's not every day you get to see a plywood robot win the Industrial Design Award :)

I agree, thanks to the Planning Committee and all event volunteers for hosting such an outstanding event. It's really exciting to see the Minnesota FIRST scene continue to grow at such a rapid pace! Congratulations to all teams, including 2169 on the Regional Chairman's Award, and 1714, 2169, and 3018 on an exciting and well-deserved win. Thanks to our great alliance members, 2826 and 2220, for an awesome experience. The semi-finals "buzzer beater" will definitely go down in team history as a moment to remember!

Aww, nobody commented on my vending machine signs (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1142412&postcount=155). :P
I saw you all taking pictures...
We of 93 had a great time! I'm honestly surprised we did as well as we did, but I'm going to have to attribute that to our amazing alliance partners, 3883 and 3747. Thank you everyone for such an amazing regional! Oh, and the opposing alliance's human player sinking two 3 pointers? That was awesome.
Special thanks to 1714 and 2169 for picking us and being great partners. We enjoyed discussing strategy and working with you!
It was a well run event. Thanks to all the volunteers, judges and refs as well as all the MN folks who understand this is about kids and their learning!!
Thanks for noticing the battle axe - we are working on our 'team brand'.
Anybody know where the archived videos are?
None on the Blue Alliance so far.

There are a few on youtube from what I've found but not many...
There seem to be more on youtube now thanks to teams posting theirs.

Actually, only Qualification matches that we played in at Duluth are posted there.
