Weingberg's Law If builders built buildings the way programers wrote programs the first woodpecker that came allong would destroy civilization.  If Computers get too powerful, we can just orginize the onto a committie - That will do them in.  Any given program, when running, is obsolete. The value of a program is proportional to the weight of its output. Make it possible for programmers to write in English and you will find out that programmers cannot write in English.  If the imput editor has been designed to reject all bad input, and ingenious idiot will discover a method to get bad data past it.  Machines work, people should think. |
