Signal light not blinking

We formatted and imaged our cRIO earlier. Our robot code is showing up on the driver station, but the signal light isn't blinking or lit up. This worries us, because this might indicate a different problem. Does anyone know what the issue might be? Thanks.

Is your digital module in slot #2 as it should be to get the RSL?

Also, I assume the RSL LED by the power connector on the Digital Sidecar is dark?

Agreed.

They changed the slot layout for this year.

Also to note, in our experience, while we were able to 'run' last year's code on the new image, the code didn't work at all. Something as simple as reading in an analog pin wouldn't work.

Maybe not true for all teams, but it was our experience.

I could also be the watch dog.

Make sure your Digital Sidecar is properly powered. Are all three of the BATT, +5v, and +5v LEDs lit?

Double-check the cable between the Digital Sidecar and the DIO module in cRIO slot 2. Many of the ribbon cables in this year's Kit of Parts were improperly built, with one of the ends having the connector reversed.

Yep.

Switched the modules around so that they matched this year's slot layout. The RSL LED is now lit up, but we still have the same problem.

Check the easiest things first, is the signal light wired properly? Check that the wires go to the right terminals and that your jumper is in and every connection is tightened down.

Check that the plug on the bottom of the light is all the way in. When we tightened our light down last year, the plug would pull out ever so slightly and stop the light from working. Easy fixes are great because they have very little time involved.

If your LED is blinking on the sidecar and the amber RSL isn't that seems to point to wiring between the sidecar and the amber RSL, or a faulty RSL. Check it with a RSL from last year maybe...

So the thing that I would suggest doing is going through all of your power cables and making sure that they ate the right size and, they are properly working and that they are in the right slots. It could be just a simple power failure.

If the LED on the sidecar is acting normal, then the wiring to the big RSL light is at fault. Check for polarity and check that the wires are attached. Oft times, insulation gets between the wire and the contact at the connector used for the Honeywell light.
