Pneumatic shooter? Why so many dry fire noises?

Had a similar idea in mind too, assuming its the pneumatic kicker from your 2010 bot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raZdkGxq5Ig) with a cylinder of some sort to direct the angle.
Only problem is that you'll hafta be at the same exact spot to get it in every time. Otherwise it's a great idea for a consistent angle and distance for 3 consecutive kicks. |
Re: FRC Team 987 Teaser #1
This is definitely not a flywheel shooter - you'd hear the woosh. Sounds like a precharged pneumatic piston is propelling the balls. A very consistent and very good idea.

I suspect it is something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0o-y..._order&list=UL just with a different angle and a stronger pneumatic. Or it is something similar to this with surgical tubing power and a pneumatic to retract it for the prototype and a winch on the actual bot.
